Billy Burke | – Word of the Week: John 11:40
“Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” (John 11:40 KJV)
This verse is in reference to Lazarus, when Jesus told Mary and Martha many times He was going to raise Lazarus, they didn’t quite understand. They thought “Lazarus is dead. How can He raise him?” They didn’t get it until the very end.
Jesus was frustrated with their inability to believe what He was trying to help them believe. Once Lazarus was raised, Jesus asked them, “Didn’t I tell you that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God?”
Today, so many people are saying, “By faith I have the money” or “By faith I have the healing.” It’s a good thing to have faith, but never forget that faith is not for us to keep faithing it. Faith is so you can see it. Faith is for you to attain it!
That requires a little more focus and aggression in your behavior to see that you’re not called to just think about the prize, claim the prize and stand on the prize. You’re called to hold the prize!
Every prize you hold is glory. Healing shows the glory. Money is your hands shows the glory. Glory comes from victory! In this verse, Jesus was saying, “Don’t just claim it. Don’t just stand on it. Don’t just say, ‘By faith I have it’.” We faith it, not to keep faithing it, but to see the results. You want to see the healing, see money come into your hands, see the promotion, see the door open to the next level.
Be careful not to fall into the trap of, “I’m faithing it” with no intention of ever seeing or seizing the prize. This week, begin to say, “I’m gonna see it! I’m gonna hold it! I’m gonna have it!”
