I'm A Bible Student Too, And Will Be All My Days, Like You, I've Delved Deep Into The Things Of The World We Are Led To Believe, Which On Close Inspection Half The Time Turn Out To Be Outright Lies. I Love The Bible, & Do My Absolute Best To Learn & Take In All I Can, Also Implementing What I've Leaned Into My Life, This Is Very Challenging For Me In My Personal Circumstances, & I Do Struggle A Lot Of The Time With It, I Will Never Give In Though, & Will Continue To Do The Best I Can. Can't Really Believe I'm Doing This With You, Who Am I, Your Learning Of The Bible Is Leaps & Bounds Ahead Of My Learning, You've Been Doing It A Lot Longer, And I Have The Utmost Respect For What You Do, Sharing Your Learning, & Preaching What You Do, I Totally Agree With Nearly all What You Preach About, Think I Have Nearly All Your Sermons & Get Immense Pleasure From Them.   11. What a powerful message. I will need to listen to it a second time to be sure. However, once again, my heart breaks hearing Pastor state that Jesus actually "became" sin. I love and respect Pastor and will continue to listen to his preaching for as long as God gives him breath to preach. But this, this is not scriptural; unless I am misunderstanding him. Perhaps I am. I pray I am. Our sins were ascribed to Him. He did NOT become sin.
    I'm a woman, I have no right to teach, I have no right to correct a man of God, so I will quote another man (I chose to quote from GotQuestions, but there are many, many others who explain – from the Greek and Hebrew – how Jesus could not have literally become sin.
    God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21). This verse has inspired a great deal of debate among theologians over the years. There is no doubt that the verse expresses a unique truth about Jesus: He became sin for us. While on the one hand the verse states the simple gospel truth that Jesus took upon Himself the sins of all who would ever believe in Him, it also makes a somewhat enigmatic statement. How exactly did God make Jesus to be sin for us?

    Perhaps the best way to understand He became sin for us is to begin with what it does not mean. First, it does not mean that Jesus actually became sin itself. To posit such a theory denies all of Scripture, which clearly presents Jesus Christ as the One in whom there is no sin (1 John 3:5), who commits no sin (1 Peter 2:22), and who is holy, blameless, and pure (Mark 1:24; Acts 3:14; Revelation 3:7). For Jesus to “become” sin, even for a moment, would mean He ceased to be God. But Scripture presents Jesus as “the same yesterday, today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). He was and is and always will be the Second Person of the Godhead (John 1:1).

    Second, the idea that Jesus became sin for us does not mean that He became a sinner, not even for a moment. Some have said that Christ may be considered as the greatest of sinners, because all the sins of mankind (or at least of the elect) became His own sins. When Christ suffered in our place and died for us, He bore the punishment for our sins in His own body (1 Peter 2:24). But Jesus at no time became a sinner personally.

    Third, it does not mean He was guilty of actual sin. No one is truly guilty who has not transgressed the law of God, which Jesus never did. If He were guilty, then He deserved to die, and His death could have no more merit than that of any other guilty person. Even the Pharisees who sent Jesus to Calvary knew He was guiltless: “And though they found in him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have him executed” (Acts 13:28).

    If He became sin for us does not mean Jesus was sin, or a sinner, or guilty of sin, the proper interpretation can only be found in the doctrine of imputation. This is confirmed by the second part of 2 Corinthians 5:21: “So that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” To impute something is to ascribe or attribute it to someone. On the cross, our sin was imputed to Christ. That is how Christ paid our sin debt to God. He had no sin in Himself, but our sin was imputed (attributed) to Him so, as He suffered, He took the just penalty that our sin deserves. At the same time, through faith, Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us. Now we can stand before God sinless, just as Jesus is sinless. We are not righteous in ourselves; rather, Christ’s righteousness is applied to us.

    So, “God made him . . . to be sin for us” means that Jesus, although sinless, was treated as if He were not. Although He remained holy, He was regarded as guilty of all the sin in the world. Through imputation of our sin to Him, He became our substitute and the recipient of God’s judgment against sin. Having saved those who believe, He is now “our righteousness, holiness and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30).

  18. please pray for me. I have finished my chemotherapy for cancer. While undergoing treatment, my two daughters moved out suddenly, my mother died, and my wife almost died due to covid. I suffer from anxiety attacks and depression. I suddenly have become an empty nester. I have been crying every day since February 27th the day my eldest daughter left. I am anxious about my situation and feel like i'm not needed anymore. Feel like a senior in an old folks home just waiting for death or the rapture. I'm expected back at work on August 3rd and I am fearful of going back. I have 2.5years before I can get a full pension. Am in debt for$26,000. My sisters are fighting for money from my mothers house. And call me often to complain. Like Elijah, I have prayed to the Lord to take my life. Please pray for me

  33. Their is no outer space. The earth is a flat concealed environment. The moon shall not give her light. There for her light is her own not reflecting the sun as scientist say. I believe it matters to know that space doesn't exist. If you believe in space and other planets it opens the door to aliens and snowball from there. Not only this but in 1500 Copernicus decided to say we are geocentric rather than heliocentric. He also happen to be a 33rd degree freemason. The earth was known as flat up to this point.

  38. Hello Pastor Charles Lawson.. Well after my car accident that almost killed me…I am at a shelter in Tucson Arizona and it's called the Gospel Rescue Mission…I believe God has brought me here to testify about my life and and to testify how many times the devil has tried to knock me down and I also believe, God is finally giving me rest. But the strange part is that this shelter hasn't let me rest nor has been able to let me testify about my life! Now for 4 weeks have passed and I have been trying to testify but they only let me testify for only a couple of minutes, while everyone else that I watch testify are given 30 minutes to 45 min….not sure what to do……
