  1. A special set of things to note in this very important passage:
-Abraham, in verse 5, said to the young men who were accompanying him to "Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you."
Note: "we will". Abraham had already received the command to sacrifice even his own son, Isaac, and he didn't know what God was going to do up there, exactly, but Abraham did know that God would fulfill His Word that Isaac would be through whom God's promises would be fulfilled.

What he knew of how nature operates said "This wouldn't work" – but he also knew how God operates, and would not disobey the Creator's order due to his understanding of natural order.

-Note that when Isaac asked in verse 7 "…where is the lamb for a burnt offering?", Abraham rightly replied "..God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering."
Then note after God stayed Abraham's hand, a ram was provided.
A ram, not a lamb. But Abraham was not incorrect in saying God would provide a lamb.

#1. God does not desire us to sacrifice each other, like religions and ideologies of the world around us. He did not want Abraham to sacrifice Isaac: He did not want Abraham placing Isaac (or his family, or anything else) before God Himself. Abraham's obedience allowed for an incredibly powerful sign of God's love to be shown to us, and allowed for Abraham to prophecy of the Messiah's coming – speaking of:
#2. God did provide a lamb, just not that day and not on that mountain.
Rather, about 2,000 years ago, on a hill called Golgotha, the hand for sacrifice was not stopped – because Jesus willingly went to the cross.
    As Jesus said:
"No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." (John 10:18)
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Behold, the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world!

  2. Amen. ( Genesis 22:1-18)
praise God for He is a provider God of grace, mercy, and love.
    Proverbs 17:17
"17 A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for a time of adversity."( NIV)

Praise God for Jesus is our substitution sacrifice on the cross and back. In Jesus' name, i give thanks to God for our Lord( Jesus) perfect sacrifice once for all and at all time. Praise the Lord. In Jesus' name, i pray. Amen.

    Acts 1:8
    Mark 10:45
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” "( NIV)

  3. In the Holy presence of God,abiding there all our needs are provided. He is our Alpha and Omega until he calls us Home to be with Him.All might not include houses and other material things;but we know what ALL needs mean, when abiding in His presence, being satisfied with bread and water,PEACE,JOY and a real satisfaction of well being that passes all our understanding. There with thanksgiving we can say”LORD YOU are all I need”In His presence is fulness of Joy and Your right hand pleasures for evermore.Psalms 16:11

  4. It took listening yesterday and today, and allowing Holy Spirit to work in my heart, to give up what I’ve been holding onto. Bless You most High and Mighty God of all! I relinquish that most precious bird of mine into Your hands once again.

  5. This is one of the hard scripture to read, I know Abraham loves the Lord and trust him, but I wonder what was in Abraham’s sons mind after his father tried to kill him, thank you Lord! You’re our Savior! I’m so ready for your coming!! Please come soon!! ❤️
