  1. If ever there were an illegitimate church, it is the (Anglican) Church of England. Considering the circumstances under which the church was founded, I am surprised anybody wants to be even remotely associated with it.

  2. I hate to tell you all, but, an elaborate memorial in a toilet is NOT maintaining this church's beauty. If the vicar were doing his duty, this church would be used at least twice a day, seven days a week, for matins and evensong.

  3. Maybe is not politically correct to say this but honestly I'm happy of their decline.
To have faith in Christ is not firstly to be kind and sweet to eachother, instead it's first of all to obey to what the Lord has commanded to us!
I think that their disappearance would be the most sincere gift that they could give to the Christian Faith and to the goal of Christian Reunification. Amen

  4. If I was the Vicar here, I would've installed toilets in the tower, and had removable pews, keeping the ancient interior suited to the Book of Common Prayer but allowing it to be used for fetes and the like. I'd also want to have the quire be still separate from the nave, allowing it to be used as a smaller chapel when the events are going on.

What these architects have done is quite unacceptabe!

  5. if there is anyone from the church of England peals listen to me just once, you people are making a big mistake,a very very big @t
a day many British folks are becoming atheist or Muslims, but
why?because they find logic in those things.but Christianity also has
    some @t
first of all, keep your churches open for every Christian whether
catholic, orthodox or protestant i.e. don't discuss that orthodox are
    wrong or protestants are wrong.
take lectures in church, start with some general the topic like why religion is important, religion and family values.
also discuss some history like evidence existence   of Jesus other than bible.
then come to why Jesus is god?
then problems in life and their solution in bible.
in short make your churches free christian institutes.
do not have emphasis on proving other faiths wrong, have your emphasis on proving yourself(Christianity) right.
just start this idea in only 1 church with a father who has a deep knowledge bible and christian history.

  6. The Church of England is the state church of England of which the queen is the official temporal leader. This being true, why does not the British parliament along with the queen directly support the entire upkeep of these historic buildings while at the same time allowing the churches to be used for community events. The preservation of these architectural treasures would surely generate revenues for the areas as a whole from travel and tourism. Allowing these historical artifacts to fall into ruin is unthinkable from a cultural viewpoint. The lack of governmental support gives the impression that the Church of England is considered to be a relic not worthy of support by both the government and the queen. But, if this indeed is the case, then declare an end to the state church idea and be done with it. I am sure that all Anglican clergy would greatly appreciate being able to attend their spiritual duties without the ongoing problem of how to keep the physical doors of their churches open.

  7. Long ago, around year 1530, King Henry VIII had nuptual problems and had a tiff with the Catholic Pope of the time because the Pope did not allow Henry to remarry. As a result came the Act of Supremacy and the Church of England was established on account of the aforesaid nuptual problems. Thus, the United Kingdom has had problems with coordinating with central Europe. In modern times, we have Brexit as another example of problems with coordinating with central Europe. Thus, the Church of England has a fairly dubious basis. However, in an my experience, I have met lots of arrogant conceited Church of England vicars that live in "cloud cuckoo land", totally out of touch with contemporary society and its values.
