I wish some mega-pastor would have the courage to accurately depict biblical gender roles. If you look through the New Testament, you will find multiple times where a woman is called to submit to her husband, that the husband is the head of the wife, that women are "the weaker sex", that woman was made for the man and not the man for the woman, that the woman is the "helper" of the man, etc. Men are called to love their wives and to cherish their wives and even to love their wife as Christ loves the church!…but the roles are biblically clear: men are called to be in charge and women are called to submit–you must actively fight the Bible to conclude anything else. Not to mention this is how it was for all of human history until about 1960! Everything changed because of the acid-revolution of the 1960's so let me ask you a question: do you think LSD and mushrooms and all other manners of "pharmakeia" gave us proper biblical understanding of how things ought to be, or do you think maybe just maybe they opened humanity up to doctrines of devils and corrupting anti-God spirits! Intuitively men and women KNOW what the proper roles are; the new "empowered woman" and "passive man" has rendered everybody unhappy and unsatisfied including even women themselves!
If you are a "powerful woman"; a woman that is heading over the household, a woman with an important high-paying job I know that you are secretly MISERABLE. You talk a good talk about "empowerment" and "progress" but deep-down you are miserable and hiding it, and deep down you just want to be a wife and mother that is taken care of by a loving husband. And you probably have some odd health problems too, like auto-immune disorders, because you are fighting your own biology! God made men to be men and women to be women.
And I want to be clear that I am not talking about men being abusive; we are not talking about a "caveman/cavewoman" relationship here. We are talking about what everybody intuitively knows is right even though everybody is pretending like they don't know: that men should be in charge, that men should love and cherish their wife, and women should submit to their husbands—this is what is best for everybody INCLUDING WOMEN and it is what the Bible teaches!
As a husband I gave my wife unconditional love for ten years, sacrificed my comfort zone so she could get ahead but now she's too big to make a little sacrifice for me to get ahead now she's acting the boss. Your sermon was one-sided and painful to hear
