“Beautiful Hope” is a film that highlights some of the world’s most urgent spiritual and physical needs, as well as the ways in which God is using His people to meet those needs with the hope of the gospel. Pastor and author David Platt takes us with him on a trek where breathtaking beauty is coupled with dark reality. Though the mountains proclaim the work of God’s fingers, they cannot proclaim the grace of His gospel. If we truly believe what we say we believe, we cannot settle for casual Christianity. Something needs to change.

  14. As a fellow video maker I just wanna share how this film makes me feel and some of my observations, with an intention to build up brother/sister in Christ. It's very encouraging to have brothers and sisters using creative media as vessel for the Kingdom. Praise God for your talents. The shots are beautifully taken and the extend you guys went was far and beyond most of us would go. I respect that. Just one thing about this film… it's technically marvelous, but not impactful to my heart.

    Let's talk about heart. David Platt gave some of the most impactful sermons I've ever heard, but in this video I feel like I'm being fed some information, and not so much the heart of God. His talking heads felt kinda off. The ending part felt a bit like a forced hype for the "hope" David was talking about, especially with the upbeat music. It felt like the ministry announcement video you'd see at a mega church. It's decorative but not affectionate. The shots are beautiful, but with so many closeups it gets a bit distracting. CU are great for guiding attention to specific details, but when the details don't connect to the message well enough it turns into distraction.

    This quick cut shallow DoF CU B roll method is great for commercial work because it saves time. They're quick to take, easy to use shots. Honestly wide shots are not easy to take and to use, CUs can be thrown in almost anywhere and still sort of work. But when it comes to this kind of work where you wanna be shifting people's heart/paradigm, it's important to be really focus. Focus meaning it has to guide us into seeing the heart of God for these people, not an overview of their condition or tiny trivial details. For instance, we don't really see interactions with the local people there, it's hard to sense anything for them. You want audiences' heart break because they sense God's love for these people. It can't happen if they receive an overall empathy to the tragedies happening there. Because both God's love and wrath are the same in whatever circumstances they're in. We need to help people focus on the fact that all these tragedies are a shadow of the spiritual reality, the absence of Jesus in their lives. At the bottom of it is whether the people behind the camera receives it first. (this is also my own reflection when making contents) Do I love these people as Jesus loves them?

    I don't always leave YouTube comment seriously, but I am also learning and this is a way for myself to reflect and process. Here's me talking to myself: if I'm not willing to die for these souls' salvation, my video about them won't show the dedication for them, hence can't inspire others to have it. I gotta be a missionary to make a video that calls others to become missionaries.

  19. Can I ask an honest question? Considering the status of the UPGs where there is no witness, how can you remain in the US where access to the gospel is everywhere? I don’t ask this with a judging spirit, but honestly ask, why stay in the US?

  20. PLEASE if anyone senses the deadness of the institutional church system but can't put your finger on it. I'm literally pleading with you (whoever you are) to understand something extremely important here. The mainstream Christian system is not of God. The Protestant churches are what the bible calls "The Harlot daughters of Rome". (Rev 17:5) – "Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots, And Abominations Of The Earth." 

    And Jesus Christ is calling His people out of her. 

    Rev 18:4
    “And I heard another voice from heauen, saying, Come out of her, my people, that yee be not partakers of her sinnes, and that yee receiue not of her plagues:” 

    The very first thing you need to understand is that GOD CAN BE TRUSTED to preserve His word for every generation forever. As He promises us in psalms 12:6-7

    You don’t need men to teach you what God means.

    1 John 2:27
    “But the anointing which ye haue receiued of him, abideth in you: and yee need not that any man teach you: But, as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is trueth, and is no lye: and euen as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

    It’s vital to know, especially right now, that God has kept His word in tact! There is still an every word testimony. The following clip is short yet covers a lot. And is what the Lord used to strengthen my faith in the truth. It’s not just more lifeless information. It is powerful and life changing.

    “But he answered, and said, It is written, Man shall not liue by bread alone, but by euery word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

    Psalm 12:6-7 "The wordes of the Lord are pure wordes: as siluer tried in a fornace of earth purified seuen times. Thou shalt keepe them, (O Lord,) thou shalt preserue them, from this generation for euer. 

    The next video is a lesson on the pure word of God in the English language, which is found in the av1611 kjv. This is much different than the King James bible you are able to easily find in the so called "Christian bookstores".  Please pray and genuinely take this before the Lord. He will show you. (Prepare to be attacked once you start down this path)

     The first link I left above is from Reg's youtube channel called "Rescuing the Church". There is a lot of good information there on things you should know. Very important and powerful and it dispels many lies. So you can find him there. 
    And Johns channel is also the one associated with the lesson on the 1611. There are a few testimonies, a few sermons, as well as a handful of lessons to be found there.
    John is gracious yet right to the point. And so is Reg. And most importantly they have the Holy Ghost in them. 

    I had prayed for help a long time because I was growing increasingly confused, frustrated, misguided and the list goes on.. But like most of us, I kept returning Sunday after next hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, tithed more (not biblical to give cash btw, but that’s another topic), got more involved, etc.
    It got to a point where a friend at the time asked me to just "try and sing". He meant well, but it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short – my whole Christian life was that way until very recently. Powerless. Its only been about the last 2 years. That's when my life turned upside down. And the Lord truly showed up in a powerful way and began leading me in the trueth.

    It's actually named after one of three films John helped co-produce with Christ Pinto. (side note: Chris Pinto does not hold to the same conviction about the word of God as John and a few of us others. That tid bit was used to try and attack John before, as an attempt to discredit him)

    All are free to watch on YouTube, and they cover the history of the bible. They follow the reformation, persecution of early believers, the counter reformation, the attempts at destroying the word of God, the Jesuits and so on. Things the Saints will be edified to know. The things that matter. 

    I really hope this reaches someone. If this is you… honestly, please go ahead and look. God is rich in mercy and His patience is unmatched. He's been drawing me for a really long time. But I got trapped in the institutional church system and was stuck there being taught corruption for years, by pastors who don't believe that the book they teach from is infallible. They say that it is, but they are dishonest in their claim. And their churches "statements of faith" will attest to this. They almost all say something akin to "we believe the original manuscripts were infallible.”
    Okay well wait a minute… unless they have read the originals in their entirety, then how do these men know when they’re teaching us truth and how do they know when they’re teaching us error? They don’t!
    If they did, why not simply fix the bible they’re using and make it infallible? 
    ..something to consider.
