David Platt | – David Platt // You Are Not in Debt to Jesus

It’s common to hear, “I want to pay Jesus back for all that He has done for me,” but this is not possible. Jesus has saved us by His grace so that we are not living in debt to Jesus, but rather indwelled by Jesus.

Christianity means giving Jesus the full weight of your sin, which in no way minimizes the fact that it is eternally heavy, but instead maximizes the cross.

About The Author

Radical Radical exists to serve the church in accomplishing the mission of Christ. We long to see the church making disciples who make disciples who make disciples throughout the world -- from our neighbors across the street to the unreached people groups across the globe -- all for the glory of God. 1. " we are living indwelt by JESUS" amen.
" I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live ( for ye are dead, your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life shall appear, then we shall also appear with him in glory, Colossians 3:3-4), but Christ lives in me. The
life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who love me and gave himself for me.
    Galatians 2:20-21.
We can't earn salvation, the Holy Scriptures tells us we were in debt to God because of our sins.
Romans 3:23, Matthew 6:12, Matthew 6:14-15, Luke 7:47 ……. However Jesus paid our debt. " Christ paid the price to free us from the curse…. Galatians 3:3-15. Thanks be to God!✝️

  2. We get to work with Jesus! It is his work, he is the one that is working in us. We get to partner with him. What is he doing? He is reconciling the world unto himself. When Jesus was in the flesh he said, " my father is working and so I have been working" John 5:17. And so with us, Jesus is working in us and so we work. " Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation ( all Christians have this ministry, fishers of men, wake up believer if you do not have a burden for the lost), that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5: 28-19.
And so when you preach the word, if you don't see any " change", dont get discouraged. No need to get depressed. The Work is the Lord's. We by the grace of God plant, others water, but the increase is of God. 2 Corinthians 3:6.
The work is the Lord's, we get to partner with him, amen. Glory be to God!✝️

  3. We are still dead to sin faith without works is dead he said as well we must not sin we must repent turn from our sins and continue in his works keeping his commandments to lovey dove gospel for me JESUS PREACHED REPENT OR PERISH IN UR SIN

  4. Some folks think he's saying it's cool to sin, he's not, he's explaining that the debt has been paid and the works of God come from Christ living in us not our human attempts to do Gods work for him.as it's been said, it is no longer I who live but Christ in me.

  5. I think what makes this guy so dangerous is that He seems to straddle the fence between heresy and holiness. He attributes power to words and not the motivation of the heart. He's pretty slick but I presume this "corrective gospel" message is the work of a man yearning to be sensational more than a sheperd. Understand that the world is constantly revising language to hide its wicked intent. We see it all the time in social economics and the mental health arena.
