David Platt | – Peace in the Middle of a Pandemic // Sermon // David Platt

Despite our many material comforts, our culture continues to be characterized by anxiety and depression. We worry about every aspect of life: Is my job secure? Am I healthy? Will I get married? Will I have kids? What’s going to happen to the economy? While we do not float above the problems of this life, as followers of Christ, we have no reason to give in to worry and fear. In this message from Matthew 6:25–33, a message given in light of the Coronavirus Pandemic, David Platt points us to Christ’s counsel for anxious souls. We can trust in the care of our heavenly Father, who provides not only for our earthly needs but more importantly for our eternal good.

About The Author

  1. Thank you. You could be taking time off too but your not. Your helping us to hold on. You know who really needs your help right now. All those doctors and nurses. There one in particular that maybe you can pray for. I have to paste the link of her vid. Shes not going to hold on for much longer.

  2. This nurse right here. Plz pray for them all but for this one for sure. This is so wrong for them to have to go through this. They are taking on the ugliest side of this virus completely alone. Its like all of America is at war and we can see the enemy kicking the hell out of our fellow soldiers and we are not allowed to jump in and help them. We can only watch as they are begging for help. I dont think i have ever shard a link before. I dont know it will work.

  3. That illustration about the timing and provision of adoption was FANTASTIC. I've been praying about having courage to take greater risks but I've felt so inadequate for so long. I've read those verses over and over but never thought of them from the angle of, not only does today have enough trouble, but today has enough grace, and tomorrow will have enough grace for those problems that might be greater than today's problems! That put it all into perspective. Thank you!!

  4. I'm writing under my husband's account but I want to tell you that I had medical anxiety and absolutely, yes, it was a sin. So I went to God, asked Him to help me with that. It's gone now. I had clinical depression. I would worry about everything and feel exceptionally sad. That's gone too. Yes, worry is a sin even when medical. But the trend now is that the devil is making health professionals believe that it's alright. That's why it's so prevalent now. And you won't believe what I saw in the mental health facility while getting treated for my anxiety and depression. I saw people who had so much anxiety and the people there were trying to treat it using meds and therapy that didn't work because you can't find peace without Jesus. And God told me in a dream that He was sad because the devil was leading people astray and because people were turning to themselves they were having more inner turmoil. He said, if they'd only come to me, they'd find peace. And that's exactly what I found when I went to Him. I pray for those people every day, two of whom were demon possessed and I knew it because they were seeing and one was talking to things that weren't there and they screamed out when I prayed for God to take the demons from them. The thought that medical anxiety isn't a sin is what's causing the door to open for spiritual attacks.

  5. so raw, praise God for the message, may we all in this tough time take really serious reflection on how we have personally sinned against our Jesus, beautiful Redeemer, Provider of our food, drinks and clothes, and the robe of righteousness, the ring, who is awaiting us at the table of the Feast after we have completed a life of faithfully following Him, spreading the pleasing aroma of the Gospel

  6. Read this book to see how David Platt was deceived by non sense.

The authors of, 'Divided by Faith' found, (that despite recent efforts by the SBC evangelical leaders to address the problem of racial discrimination, the SBC evangelical members themselves seem to be preserving America's racial chasm. )
    [Emerson's opinion]
In fact, most white evangelicals see no systematic discrimination against blacks. But the authors contend that it is not active racism that prevents evangelicals from recognizing ongoing problems in American society. Instead, it is the evangelical movement's emphasis on individualism, free will, and personal relationships that perpetuates racial inequality. ] As noted by the authors!!!! [opinion that the foundation of Evangelicalism beliefs creates racism. Very foolish]
These guys want to state, "evangelicals seem to be preserving a racial chasm". Really? But, they simply point to dumb numbers of whites living in better neighborhoods and that whites go to jail for drugs in far lesser numbers than blacks do for the same crimes. Okay. So, where in this reasoning is there a shred of any evidence of racism or of systemic racism?

  7. Will David Platt, the Social Justice pastor be thanking Shaun King when his church gets torn down by his calls for action?

Well known agitator, and Black Lives Matter spokesman Shaun King claims that the next step in so-called “social justice” is to tear down all white people’s churches. There must be 2 types of Social Justice.

What is the Christian view of social justice? The Bible teaches that God is a God of justice. In fact, “all his ways are justice” (Deuteronomy 32:4). Furthermore, the Bible supports the notion of social justice in which concern and care are shown to the plight of the poor and afflicted (Deuteronomy 10:18; 24:17; 27:19). The Bible often refers to the fatherless, the widow and the sojourner – that is, people who were not able to fend for themselves or had no support system. The nation of Israel was commanded by God to care for society’s less fortunate, and their eventual failure to do so was partly the reason for their judgment and expulsion from the land.

In Jesus’ Olivet Discourse, He mentions caring for the “least of these” (Matthew 25:40), and in James’ epistle he expounds on the nature of “true religion” (James 1:27). So, if by “social justice” we mean that society has a moral obligation to care for those less fortunate, then that is correct. God knows that, due to the fall, there will be widows, fatherless and sojourners in society, and He made provisions in the old and new covenants to care for these outcasts of society. The model of such behavior is Jesus Himself, who reflected God’s sense of justice by bringing the gospel message to even the outcasts of society.

However, the Christian notion of social justice is different from the contemporary, secular notion of social justice. The biblical exhortations to care for the poor are more individual than societal. In other words, each Christian is encouraged to do what he can to help the “least of these.” The basis for such biblical commands is found in the second of the greatest commandments—love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39). Today’s politicized notion of social justice replaces the individual with the government, which, through taxation and other means, redistributes wealth. This policy doesn’t encourage giving out of love, but resentment from those who see their hard-earned wealth being taken away.

Another difference is that the Christian worldview of social justice doesn’t assume the wealthy are the beneficiaries of ill-gotten gain. Wealth is not evil in a Christian worldview, but there is a responsibility and an expectation to be a good steward of one’s wealth (because all wealth comes from God). Today’s social justice operates under the assumption that the wealthy exploit the poor. A third difference is that, under the Christian concept of stewardship, the Christian can give to the charities he/she wants to support. For example, if a Christian has a heart for the unborn, he can support pro-life agencies with his time, talent and treasure. Under the contemporary form of social justice, it is those in power within the government who decide who receives the redistributed wealth. We have no control over what the government does with our tax money, and, more often than not, that money goes to charities we might not deem worthy.

Basically, there is a tension between a God-centered approach to social justice and a man-centered approach to social justice. The man-centered approach sees the government in the role of savior, bringing in a utopia through government policies. The God-centered approach sees Christ as Savior, bringing heaven to earth when He returns. At His return, Christ will restore all things and execute perfect justice. Until then, Christians express God’s love and justice by showing kindness and mercy to those less fortunate.

David Platt and Shaun King need to repent for their man-centered fight for Social Justice which is built on hate & not love.

  8. PLEASE if anyone senses the deadness of the institutional church system but can't put your finger on it. I'm literally pleading with you (whoever you are) to understand something extremely important here. The mainstream Christian system is not of God. The Protestant churches are what the bible calls "The Harlot daughters of Rome". (Rev 17:5) – "Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots, And Abominations Of The Earth."

And Jesus is calling His people out of her.

    Rev 18:4
“And I heard another voice from heauen, saying, Come out of her, my people, that yee be not partakers of her sinnes, and that yee receiue not of her plagues:”

The very first thing you need to understand is that GOD CAN BE TRUSTED to preserve His word for every generation forever. As He promises us in psalms 12:7.

You don’t need men to teach you what God means.
    1 John 2:27
“But the anointing which ye haue receiued of him, abideth in you: and yee need not that any man teach you: But, as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is trueth, and is no lye: and euen as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

It’s vital to know, especially right now, that God has kept His word in tact! There is still an every word testimony. The following clip, though short, covers a lot. And is what the Lord used to strengthen my faith in the truth. It’s not just more lifeless information. It is powerful and life changing.

“But he answered, and said, It is written, Man shall not liue by bread alone, but by euery word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
    Matt 4:4

Psalm 12:6-7 "The wordes of the Lord are pure wordes: as siluer tried in a fornace of earth purified seuen times.

The next video is a lesson on the pure word of God in the English language, which is found in the av1611 kjv. This is much different than the King James bible you are able to easily find in the so called "Christian bookstores". Please pray and genuinely take this before the Lord. He will show you. (Prepare to be attacked once you start down this path)

The first link I left above is from Reg's youtube channel called "Rescuing the Church". There is a lot of good information there on things you should know. Very important and powerful and it dispels so many lies. So you can find him there.
And Johns channel is also the one associated with the lesson on the 1611. There are a few testimonies, a few sermons, as well as a handful of lessons to be found there.
John is gracious yet right to the point. And so is Reg. And most importantly they have the Holy Ghost in them.

I had prayed for help a long time because I was growing increasingly confused, frustrated, and the list goes on.. But like most of us, I kept returning Sunday after next hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, tithed more (not biblical to give cash btw, but that’s another topic), got more involved, etc.
It got to a point where a friend at the time asked me to just "try and sing" but, it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short – my whole Christian life was that way until very recently. Powerless. Its only been about the last 2 years. That's when my life turned upside down. And the Lord truly showed up in a powerful way.

This link is a series of interviews that Reg began to do with John after they finally met (a providential story) Start on the first interview of course. But it's a treasure of information for the Saints.
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIfGUbjTsGu1dfoNqYUZzmg/videos

It's actually named after one of three films John helped co-produce with Christ Pinto. (side note: Chris Pinto does not hold to the same conviction about the word of God as John and a few of us others. That tid bit was used to try and attack John before, as an attempt to discredit him)

    The films are called:

    A lamp in the Dark
    Tares among the wheat
    A bridge to Babylon

All are free to watch on YouTube, and they cover the history of the bible. It follows the reformation, persecution of early believers, the counter reformation, the attempts at destroying the word of God, the Jesuits and so on. Things the Saints will be edified to know. The things that matter.

I really hope this reaches someone. If this is you… honestly, just go ahead and look. God is rich in mercy and His patience is unmatched. He's been drawing me for a really really long time. But I fell straight into church and there I got trapped and was stuck being taught for years, corruption, by pastors who don't believe that the book they teach from is infallible. They say it is, but they are dishonest in their claim. And most churches "statements of faith" will attest to it. They almost all say something akin to "we believe the original manuscripts were infallible" well, wait a minute… unless you have read the originals in their entirety, then how do you know when you're teaching me truth or error? And if you knew where the error was, why not fix it and we'd have an infallible bible?

here is one very final clip on the "servants of Lucifer"

"(if it were possible,) they shall deceiue the very elect.”
God bless you all in the trueth of Jesus Christ!

  9. I’m a new believer and these past few days it’s been hard on my faith and relationships with God, so watching this really opened my eyes and I honestly broke down because God is an amazing person and has really changed my life. So thank you for this wonderful sermon

  10. DAVID PLATT GETS IT WRONG

Social Justice is a Blank Check for Abuse of Government Power & Less Feedom, and Contradicts the Bible.
    Thomas Sowell
    https://fee.org/articles/thomas-sowell-social-justice-philosophy-is-a-blank-check-for-government-power/

"In politics, the great non-sequitur of our time is that 1) things are not right and that 2) the government should make them right. Where right all too often means cosmic justice, trying to set things right means writing a blank check for a never-ending expansion of government power."

For the social justice warrior, equality of treatment under the law is not a sufficient condition to achieve justice

What Do Social Justice Warriors Want?

To make this a reality, processes need to be put in place, according to social justice theory, so that outcomes – such as income level, unemployment rates, leadership positions, etc – are equalized regardless of one's starting point or demographic trait. Any deviation from 'equalized' outcomes suppossedly proves in the eyes of social justice that some form of social injustice- racism, sexism, capitlalist greed- must be the culprit.

The quest for social justice “focuses on one segment of the population and disregards the interests of others."

Sowell takes issue with such thinking. He believes it is the actions and policies in search of equal outcomes, along with their results, that need to be judged by an ethical evaluation of justice.

    Injustice of Social Justice
    John MacArthur
    https://www.gty.org/library/blog/B180907

Today, critical race theory, feminism, intersectional theory, LGBT advocacy, progressive immigration policies, animal rights, and other left-wing political causes are all actively vying for evangelical acceptance under the rubric of “social justice.”
Not every evangelical leader currently talking about social justice supports the full spectrum of radical causes, of course. Most (for the moment, at least) do not. But they are using the same rhetoric and rationale of victimhood and oppression that is relentlessly employed by secularists who are aggressively advocating for all kinds of deviant lifestyles and ideologies. Anyone who claims victim status can easily and effectually harness the emotional appeal of a plea for “social justice” both to gain support and to silence opposition.
Indeed, as social justice rhetoric has gained currency among evangelicals, just about every cause that is deemed politically correct in the secular world is steadily gaining momentum among evangelicals. It would be folly to pretend the social justice movement poses no threat whatsoever to evangelical conviction.
Evangelicals seldom explicitly define what they mean by “social justice”—possibly because if they gave an accurate definition of where that term came from and what it means in the secular academy, they might lose a lot of evangelical support. Countless critics have pointed out that the rhetoric of “social justice” is deeply rooted in Gramscian Marxism. For many decades, “social justice” has been employed as political shorthand by radical leftists as a way of calling for equal distribution of wealth, advantages, privileges, and benefits—up to and including pure Marxist socialism.

    Undermining Justice & the Gospel.
    E. Calvin Beisner
    https://downloads.frc.org/EF/EF13E133.pdf
The Bible Does Not Demand Wealth Redistribution or Equalization
Progressives most commonly appeal to certain passages as proof that Christianity warrants redistribution or equalization of wealth. None does so. Yet many people still insist that the basic Biblical principle of justice does require redistribution.

When people speak of social justice, they mean a social order that aims at equality of opportunity or even of outcome. But this equality of either opportunity or outcome can
be achieved only by violating the very criteria of Biblical justice— impartiality, proportionality, desert, and conformity with a righteous standard. Yet, “equality of outcome” is the primary sense in which the Progressive movement has used the term for over a century. This sort of “social justice” necessarily asserts positive rights and leads inexorably to the violation of negative rights. In this sense, “social justice” is really, by Biblical criteria, injustice.

  11. Everybody needs to know this right now.
The whole world is drunk on the doctrines of Babylon.
INCLUDING and ESPECIALLY the visible Christian church!

And if you can sense the deadness of the institutional churches and different ministries but can't put your finger on it. I'm pleading with you to try and understand something very important here. The mainstream Christian system is not of God.

Rev 17:5 – "Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots, And Abominations Of The Earth."

Mystery Babylon The Great is the Vatican – “And the woman which thou sawest, is that great Citie which reigneth ouer the kings of the earth.” – Rev 17:18

And she has harlot daughters which represent the protestant church world.

And “the Abominations Of The Earth” are corrupt scriptures.

And the final bible that will unite all faiths is called Wormwood/the Abomination of desolation. http://cvillebiblebaptist.com/AdultEducation/Vatican%20and%20United%20Nations%20Bible.pdf

And Jesus Christ is calling His people out.

    Rev 18:4

“And I heard another voice from heauen, saying, Come out of her, my people, that yee be not partakers of her sinnes, and that yee receiue not of her plagues:”

The most important thing to understand is that GOD CAN BE TRUSTED to preserve His word for every generation forever as He promises us in Psalms 12:6-7 and you do not need men to teach you.

It’s vital to know, especially right now, that God has kept His word in tact.

There is still an every word testimony with us!

The following clip by Reg Block is what the Lord used to open my eyes to the truth of Gods promises in Mark 13:31, Psalm 12:6-7, Psalms 138:2, and Matt 4:4 and so on.

It is powerful and life changing and I’m grateful for it!

I prayed a long time to know what the truth was, because over the years I grew increasingly confused, frustrated, misguided and so on.. But like most of us, I kept returning to church Sunday after Sunday hoping something would change. If I sang more, prayed harder, got more involved maybe something would give, but nothing ever did. I must have walked a thousand isles. It had gotten to a point where a friend at the time said, “just try and sing". He meant well, but it was always disingenuous so I never did. Long story short – my whole Christian life was that way until recently. (powerless) God has since saved me through genuine faith alone in Jesus Christ and now my labouring has finally ceased and I share in the Lords light burden and easy yoke. I’m born again of the Spirit.
I really hope this reaches somebody. If this is you… honestly, please look into what I’m saying here. God is rich in mercy and His patience is unmatched.
He's been drawing me for a long time, and maybe He’s drawing you too and this is the message you needed. There is still hope!

"(if it were possible,) they shall deceiue the very elect.”

It’s imperative to understand that the av1611 is much different than the 1769 KJV that most believe is the true 1611 but is not. The KJV only movement doesn’t use the authorized version of 1611 either. This is the bible that Rome has been trying to destroy and cast doubt on since its inception. Everything, from the gun powder plot to false rumours of King James being gay. It contains all the prophecies in tact. Things like, what is the mark of the beast, what is wormwood, who and what is Antichrist, who are Leviathan and Behemoth representations of, and so on.

If the scriptures are broken, the prophets are killed and the church can’t hear what the Spirit is saying.

freely ye haue receiued, freely giue.”

    Matt 10:8
