(1) Dear pastor, sorry, but my English Language is not good! But, I'm going to try to write some words. First, congratulations for your ministry. It's fantastic! Thanks for your words. (continuous…)
(2) In second place, I'd like to tell about other site, called "a Christian answer to YouTube", the GodTube. It seems more a good opportunity to proclaim the God's Word. The site is …godtub… God bless you. Rev. Renato Hoerlle, Lutheran pastor
Thanks for your kind words! My videos are also on GodTube. I wish you you God's richest blessings in Christ! Pastor Lassman
You know what. You don't know what you are talking about. Yes, I am aware of the shortcomings of Christianity and it's failures in history. But your one side attack gives no evidence of knowing what any secular, scholarly book on Western Christianity would tell you: The Christian Church contributed many good things to Western Civilization. …..Pastor Lassman
Hi..when it comes to spiritual matters there is no free will because humans are born into this world spiritually dead and blind. (oringal sin). So they have some free will in some worldly matters..but not spiritual matters. That's why faith and salvation are by God's grace and a gift..Pastor Lassman
NO.
hi pastor, I commented on the saved video as well. I see what you are saying, but you said jesus done his part, are you saying that we do not have a part at all because that would be tag team? Would our part not be going to church, getting baptized, receiving the word, believing, and accepting what has been done for us? please explain. Thanks!!!
Hi..I think I answered this in one of my recent replies but what do you mean by "our part"? Yes…we are "doing" those things…but again where do we get the POWER to "do" those things? From God….our salvation is in the hands of God from begining to end. For example…you live your life every day right? But could you live your life every day if it was not for God who was keeping you alive? Hope this helps…Pastor Lassman
Hello, what bothers me about protestant teaching is that we should NOT believe that God creates anything dead, therefore I feel you should know the truth from a Catholic perspective. We have a human nature that is GOOD because we are created in God's own image and likeness. Therefore we are essentially good, but we do bad things. We have fallen into original sin, but God does not create anything bad. Yes, free will is very biblical. Just look at the 10 commandments.
Would God gives us commandments if we didnt have the free will choice to follow them? Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:17). We are given the choice to do as we please, that is why sin exists. We freely choose to sin just as we freely choose to do good. Would God really allow all the bad things in the world to happen as if we are his puppets. I hope you realize how much we would lack purpose if we didnt have free will.
He doesn't force us, but He gives us the power to be able to do those things; it is through Him that we are saved, not by anything that we have done. The focus should always be on Him, rather than on us.
Pastor Lassman, Thank you for posting these videos! I was baptized as an infant in a Lutheran Church, and recently I was confronted that it's not Biblical. They encouraged me to be re-baptized. Listening to your preaching is very refreshing. Next, I'll be looking at the other side's argument. God bless!
Amen!
HI………thanks for your kind comments! Remember the four basic points: 1) Infants are include in Jesus' command to baptize, 2) Infants are sinners (original sin), 3) Because Baptism is connected with God's Word, it actually GIVES AND DOES SOMETHING, and 4) Infants can have faith, which is a gift (as also with adults!)
