What is the rapture?

According to the Bible, there is a generation that will not see death (Mark 13:30). Instead, they will be removed from the face of the earth in what is known as the rapture of the church.

“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51–52).

We will be “caught up.”

The passage 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 full of wonderful hope and promise: “Then we who are alive and who remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).M

“Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:40–42).

We will “meet the Lord.”
The Greek word for “meet” carries the idea of meeting a royal person, or a person of great importance. That is because when the Lord calls us to Himself, we will meet the King of kings.

“In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also” (John 14:2–4).

“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure” (1 John 3:2–3).

  5. Let's talk about the Rapture. How many believe that our bodies will be taken up? I don't. I know that its our souls that will be taken and our corrupted bodies will be left behind. We will meet the Lord in the air to receive our incorruptible new bodies. For the governments of the world, this will be perfect. They will love this, because they will blame it on a new Pandemic and everyone will be locked down again while they search for the disease and cure. Oh what a time for the Antichrist to appear, tens of millions upon millions of dead bodies across the globe with no answers. God isn't going to take a corrupted body to the heavens leaving him to have to discard the old one in order to receive your new one. Saved isnt saved in the flesh …but the soul. The flesh is mortal while the soul is immortal, of which…the immortal soul unites with its new incorruptible immortal body at the rapture leaving behind the old former shell….not a physical rapture in the flesh, but rather the soul. Its the truth. Its never been talked about in this manner but it needs to be. So much of scripture is misunderstood because its misinterpreted because of the translations. Read scripture in the Greek and Hebrew, then you'll see a total different understanding, a complete understanding. A correct understanding.

  7. I know that Jesus has purified me and that I cannot earn my own righteousness, yet I still struggle with imposter syndrome. What if I don’t believe enough or have misunderstood a part of the Bible? What if I still commit a sin and forget to repent for it? I’ve been a believer in Christ from a young age but I deal with so much doubt, even though I try to pray and trust Him. I hope the Lord accepts me even with my doubts.

  13. Jesus never told us the day he was coming but did he possibly give us the hour. In the parable of the 10 virgin's he say "at midnight". This is Israel time so for me here in Sydney Australia it would be 7am

    There was no "great escape" for the church at Smyrna. Jesus told those Saints at Smyrna some of them will be killed.

    Fear none of those things which THOU SHALT SUFFER: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful UNTO DEATH and I will give thee a crown of life.

There is no pretrib rapture Jn.6,39,40,44,54 Jesus said All the father gives me I'll raise up on the last day and all that eat my flesh and drink my blood ill raise up on the last day, Greg is teaching a lie and hes using second coming verses. I'm so sick of hearing these false teachers. Ive seen the first five seals and heard the first trumpet September 29,08 the day the stock market crashed 777 and then the Lord sent me a messenger while I was in a restaurant and he told me God seals a thousand a month for twelve months for twelve years and that puts it this September feast of trumpets Gods through sealing the tribes then the first four trumpets take out 1/3 Rev 7,9,14 but then the world is in the woes or last three trumpets 5,6,7 and trumpet six is the seven years of Daniel, the three woes Rev 8,13 the angel says woe woe woe cause there's three more trumpets 5,6,7 then the 5th trumpet sounds and it's five months long then the first woe is over Rev 9,12 then the second woe comes the sixth trumpet and its told us in two parts first the kings of the east and they bring us to armageddon Rev 16,12 then the second part is Rev 11,1-14 the building of the temple and the two witnesses for seven years then the second woe is over Rev 11,14 then the third woe comes Rev 11,15 the seventh trumpet the Lord Jesus and thats the last trumpet Rev 10,6,7 1cor 15 50,51,52 Matt 24,29,30,31 1THESS 4,13-17, so turn away from Greg hes preaching a false doctrine.

  28. Greg dont you think that for us in the west the rapture is an easy way out? If feels like an easy way out for me. Almost every believer been through pain and tests except for most of us. Wont our faith be tested during the tribulation. I think many Christians who believe and will be tested that way will fall away. I know what you think but is it an option we will endure tribulation.

  29. Another false pre tribulation rapture message with the promise of escaping death. Focus on God, obeying his commands, accepting Jesus Christ as your savior, and accept the fact that most of us will die either during our pre tribulation lifetime of during the great tribulation.

  30. There is no (pre trib) "Rapture." The verse that talk about the taking away is the gathering of the saints at the return of Christ and the resurrection that precedes it. There are only two resurrections; one for the saints and a second for the sinners. 1 Thess.4:16-18 (the rapture passage) speaks of the dead in Christ rising first: the first resurrection. This occurs at the second coming, at the beginning of the of the 1000 year reign of Christ. Then 1Thess.4:16-18 talks about us meeting Him in the air. This is when Christ sends His angels to gather us and we fly with the angels to meet Him in the air as He is coming down to the Mt. of Olives.

  31. Brother Greg, I believe you're a true follower of Christ. But, I'm scared you're unknowingly teaching false doctrine about the rapture. Jesus never said we are exempt from tribulation. But once reborn through Jesus sacrifice and blood, we are exempt from God's wrath. Wrath and tribulation are two separate things. During the "great tribulation", CHRIST wants us to stay firm in the faith and preach the Gospel when it is the most difficult, even unto physical death. If the church is taken away, there will be no one here to proclaim God's Word and turn the lost to Christ. The Bible clearly states, he (antichrist) will make war with the saints AND OVERCOME THEM, the world will deliver us up to death for the witness of Jesus Christ. If it is taught that we escape the tribulation, and believers find that they must withstand trib. It will cause many to fall away in discouragement. The Church will be here for the great tribulation, but we must lead others to Jesus by example and witnessing to them. So that they can be exempt from God's wrath, from which there will be no escape for the lost and wicked.

  35. Awake my Christian brothers and sisters in the Lord. Open His word for yourselves and read every passage where Jesus is seen as a thief in the night. Here they are: Matthew 24:36-44; Luke 12:35-40; 1Thessalonians 5:2-10; 2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 3:1-3; and Revelation 16:12-16. Clearly this is the same as His second coming. Not a secret rapture, and He is not a thief taking His elect. He will rapture us and gather us to Him, and we are to be awake and doing His business so that he does not come to us as a thief. On the other hand, the world will see Him as the thief and will be destroyed at His coming. Read Matthew 13:18-30 and 36-43. The harvest is at the end of the age. We are told to persevere and to overcome. Tell those around the world who are being persecuted and put to death for their faith in Him about the great escape? No brother and sisters, prepare for whatever comes our way by abiding in Him, and let your light shine before others so that you may glorify the Father.

  40. That is such a complete cop out for people who don’t want to believe. It is an excuse they use when they all know better. Rapture is not a new word or hidden word but is an excuse for people who refuse to believe in God grace their to busy trying to finish a finished work by their works. It called self-righteousness.I don’t waste my time with them.
