‘Seasons’ from the Hillsong Christmas Album ‘The Peace Project: [support us]

Christmas is God’s ultimate peace project. Just as God sent Jesus to usher in Shalom, He invites us all to become agents of Peace. ‘The Peace Project’ Christmas album is comprised of fresh arrangements of five of the most beloved Christmas classics including ‘Hark’, ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Joy to the World’ along with seven new, vibrant tracks such as ‘Prince of Heaven’, ‘Seasons’ & ‘Peace Upon The Earth’. Our prayer is that even as we enjoy the festivities of the season, that our worship might be felt in some of the most chaotic and dark places on earth, honouring our Prince of Peace, Jesus.

Lyrics:

VERSE 1:
Like the frost on a rose
Winter comes for us all
Oh how nature acquaints us
With the nature of patience
Like a seed in the snow
I’ve been buried to grow
For Your promise is loyal
From seed to sequoia

PRE-CHORUS:
I know

CHORUS:
Though the winter is long even richer
The harvest it brings
Though my waiting prolongs even greater
Your promise for me like a seed
I believe that my season will come

VERSE 2:
Lord I think of Your love
Like the low winter sun
As I gaze I am blinded
In the light of Your brightness
Like a fire to the snow
I’m renewed in Your warmth
Melt the ice of this wild soul
Till the barren is beautiful

BRIDGE:
I can see the promise
I can see the future
You’re the God of seasons
I’m just in the winter
If all I know of harvest
Is that it’s worth my patience
Then if You’re not done working
God I’m not done waiting

You can see my promise
Even in the winter
Cause You’re the God of greatness
Even in a manger

For all I know of seasons
Is that You take Your time
You could have saved us in a second
Instead You sent a child

TAG:
And when I finally see my tree
Still I believe there’s a season to come

VERSE 3:
Like a seed You were sown
For the sake of us all
From Bethlehem’s soil
Grew Calvary’s sequoia

  1. Please pray for the 'xenophobic' attacks happening in South Africa. 11 people have already died, the 11nth dying a gruesome, unmentionable death. Men of God say it is only going to get worse if believers don't take a stand. They say it is going to turn into a civil war if we don't pray. Please. Even a small prayer means a lot for the lives on the line. Pray for peace. date posted: Monday 9 September 2019.

  2. 2:48 If all I know of Harvest is that it's worth my Patience; Then if you're not done working then God I'm not done waiting // You can see my Promise even in the winter; Cause You're the God of Greatness even in a manger // For all I know of seasons is that You take your time // You could've saved us in a second instead you sent a Child // Though the Winter is long even Richer the Harvest it brings // Though my waiting prolonged even greater; Your promise for me like a seed // And I believe my season will come // Amen, God is so so so very Good!

  3. As much as I love this song there’s something very theologically off kilter about the lyrics “You could have saved us in a second. Instead You sent a Child.”
God can do anything but He wouldn’t act contrary to His plan of redemption through Jesus. He answers this question in the 4 gospels. I’ll provide one example though.

“Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:42‬ ‭

  4. During my "winter season" I watched this lyric video over and over and over again. I didn't understand why I was going through what I was going through but I KNEW that God was up to something. This song helped me never lose hope and faith that God was working. This song got me through. ESPECIALLY the bridge. I distinctly remember watching this during the hard season. Literally on repeat. looking back now I cant help but feel emotional whenever I listen to or watch this song because I see how God used that season in my life for good. He took one of my biggest pieces of brokenness and turned it into GOOD and PURPOSE. Thank you Hillsong for this song. you have no idea of the special place in my heart this song holds. it is such a major part of my testimony, and it is SO true- for His promise IS loyal… all the way from seed to sequoia.

  5. I like the song a lot! I hadn't heard it before, but the lyrics video could use some significant improvement. Tiny print with no contrast then wavering the words in. I wonder who thought white on nude or light peach was a good idea. It rendered it mostly illegible, adding frustration and kind of defeating the purpose of a lyrics video. The wavering effect on words change out would be fine if the text was larger with more contrast to the background.

  6. You may also read the "Present, "a short text for free on the Global Truth Project. The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life for the first time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus.A life- changer!
