VERSE 1:
Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me

CHORUS:
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am

VERSE 2:
Free at last
He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me

CHORUS 2:
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God
Yes I am

BRIDGE:
I am chosen
Not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me
Not against me
I am who You say I am

  1. From Reuben Morgan:
"This song is about freedom. Free from the tyranny of self, free from the opinion of doubters, set free from the chains of our past and the hopelessness of life without God.
Gods kindness has brought us in from the outside and made us royalty.
Gods truth over us is final.
Sometimes it’s good to remind our selves that God says over us"

  2. My father was never at home. He was an alcoholic . He was never home. My mum was a single mum trying to raise 5 children by herself. At home my sisters and I never had a father figure to help our mother protect us. When I first heard this song I realised that my mother never really need my biological dad. My mother always went to church and had faith in the one true father. The lyrics "In my fathers house, there's a place for me, I'm a child of God, yes I am." really hit home for me. The Lord is my father. He was there to help guide my mother through the tough times we had growing up. Whether it was not enough food or no shelter for protection. I love you God, and I thank you so much for everything you've done for me and my family.

  3. Who am I that the Highest King, would welcome me? We are all children of God and He loves us so much. He told us by opening his arms wide open and did it while He was being nailed onto the cross. You should never think that your not good enough for God, He will love you even though you mess up multiple times. We are ALL welcomed into His presence and will never be excluded. You might think nobody loves you so we have somebody who will love us always. YOU are beautiful and YOU will always be.

  4. As a pastor seeking to find worship to use for streamed services – would I be allowed to use this song/video? We have the normal licences for CCLI and streaming, but this pandemic has thrown us into a strange world for doing church? Yet, Jesus is still building His church as the gates of COVID-19 shall not prevail!!!
