Before Edwin Hawkins, Keith Pringle recorded this on his "Perfect Peace" project… That was produced by Thomas Whitfield…
This was first performed and recorded by Keith Pringle on his Perfect Peace Project… Produced and Written by the Maestro… Thomas Whitfield…
I never knew that Thomas Whitfield produced and wrote this song. What a blessing.
I love this song. My Lord I miss Thomas Whitfield!! And Bishop G.E. Patterson, too.
Praise God! Be Blessed! Remember to click the ads above! Elder Rodgers
SANG ELDER!
that is the LEGENDARY 109TH AND PRINCETON ST JAMES CHOIR PHENOMONAL SINGERS IN THAT CHOIR WOW. THE WHOLE FRONT ROW HAD SOLOS FOR REAL
STOP YARNING FELICIA! LOL
This is one of my ALL TIME favorite songs. Thomas Whitfield was a genius. This is an example of one of those songs where the songwriter wasn't trying to make a "hit", but was just allowing us to share in his personal intimate time with the Lord. They don't really make 'em like this any more!
Oh and BTW this song was originally recorded by Keith Pringle on his 1984 album "Perfect Peace". It was then done 3 years later on the Edwin Hawkins Seminar album, with Thomas Whitfield on the lead.

I miss the days of live church broadcasting in Chicago. Sunday nights 8pm live was St. James COGIC.
One of my first introduction to Bishop WJ Campbell. Love how he preached, loved his choir. Wish I had I had the experience of sitting in one of his services. When I first introduced to Bishop, I would always call him the LL COOL J of the church lol he was always licking his lips. It’s like he knows his choir is bad. May your souls Rest In Peace Bishop. You were one of a kind and will be missed. You work shall live on
I can listen to this all day. Some ppl have stated hot it hurts too and to hear this and everyone grieves different of course. I thankfully have found comfort in this video and song! every morning this is playing. Bishop was my pastor for 15years of my early life. Never will he be forgotten!
