Joel Osteen | – Joel Osteen – Declaration of God's Promises (Official Audio)

The scripture says in Isaiah 43:26, “Put Me in remembrance…” It’s not that God forgets His Word. He already knows what He has said, but He wants to make sure that we remember what He said. Go to God with His Word. Declare His promises. Speak what God speaks because He is faithful to His Word, and He will fulfill everything He’s ever promised to you!

  2. God never promised that we would live in prosperity for the rest of our lives! If he did, why was Stephen, a faithful follower, stoned to death and why was Peter, one of his closest disciples crucified upside down? In fact, nearly all of Jesus’ disciples were tortured and crucified in a horrifying and unpleasant way. There is nothing easy or pleasant about being a Christian. Being a christian is about recognizing that we are sinful, imperfect, inherently terrible people, and all about what God has done for us. The Gospel has everything to do with what God has done for us, and nothing to do with what we did to deserve it. Because we absolutely positively did not deserve God’s grace. And there is not one thing that we can do or earn or act like to deserve anything from God. The Gospel is about God’s gift to us in offering eternal life with him by sacrificing Jesus Christ on the cross, to us undeserving and sinful people. Joel Osteen is wrong in saying that we can earn our way to God by acting more “christian” because God has already given us the gift of salvation. If we are trying to please God to earn worldly things, the focus of our worship is not on God, it is on those worldly things. This is idolatry. If people are teaching that we can earn our way up to God, it’s false teaching. Because God came down to us- we did nothing to go up to God. Be careful of false teachers.
