Thankyou. I have a better understanding of why I should read the Bible all the way through.
This explains it very well
Anyone else here listened to John Piper's whole Romans series?
That was so good, thank you.
What a great reminder! Glory to God!
I think if more people read the bible for what it says rather than what they want it to say, things would be clear.
Here we have scriptures that tell us what the future reign of our Lord will be like….
If your heart for Christ then you need to read Ezekiel 44 & Malachi 3!
Its going to open you up to some truth that you aren't expecting
John Piper is absolutely right that a lot of Bible reading is about being reminded of things we already know.
We should certainly be expecting to gain new insights, but, for those who have been Christians a long time, most of it will be reminders.
And this is very necessary because we are so prone to forget!
John Piper is right that reading the Bible fast and slow are both very important. We need to get the big picture, but we also need to take time to ponder a lot of things.
Well said! Great Bible tips! It’s especially important to slow down and pray. We want to understand God’s word not just be able to say that we read the whole thing.
Great reminder on two fronts; reading through the Bible and slowing down to understand and apply it to my life according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
I had my Dad taken away, nothing else humbled me infront of God more than that experience.
