  1. My……experience, for a lack of a better word, with God and the church has been a bit of a roller coaster. When I was a kid I whole hearted believed because well I was a kid and that's what I was taught as soon as I was old enough to understand words. But as I got older and I was able to think critically I started to question alot of things and question things God did and said. Around the time I was about 13 I came to the conclusion that there was no way the Bible was real and God was made up, and the only reason anyone believed now adays was because that's what they were taught all of their lives. For the next few years I lived my life through high school and the first year of college giving no thought whatsoever to the Bible or God being factual, or any religion for that matter. I wasn't even an atheist really, I was an anti thiest. I would denounce all religions (mostly Christianity and the Bible) at any given opportunity to anyone. I would make sure, according to my belief, that there was no way their God was real and that they were horribly delusional for ever thinking such a thing. But then, after my first year of college, I started getting these thoughts out of nowhere that maybe I was wrong and I needed to actually look for answers. I spent many late nights looking up articles and books trying to piece together the existence of a God. It nearly drove me crazy. And like Lee here said, it took more faith for me to remain an atheist than for me to be a Christian. I started studying the bible, I starting attending a church function at my college, I started praying and reaching out to God multiple times a day.

But then…….life happened. As I grew older I began going through many challenges in my life. I went through problems in my relationship at the time that ultimately met a rough end. I was compounded by stress upon more stress. I tried to turn to God for strength during it all but I always felt as if I wasn't getting answers or just any help in general. It left me confused, it made me feel like no matter how close to God I felt the more distant he really was, if that makes any sense. And I find myself coming back to speeches like these, to find reassurance and closure to restore my faith in God and the Bible. I would be lying if I said I wasn't hurting, because I am. As C.S. Lewis once said, if Christianity is false then it is of no importance. But if Christianity is true then it is of infinite importance. And the thought of me making the wrong choice in the end, makes me physically ill.

If you read all of this, then believe me when I say it is much appreciated. I'm hurt, and I have no one who will listen. I typed all of this in hopes that at least one person will read it and understand.

  2. A gentleman replied to my comment some time ago, I wanted to tell him, that just as I almost believed that there was no hope for my husband he acsepted Jesus, he is like a changed man he was a good man but now he is leading my family we all are a beautiful Christian family now, amen
    Thank you

  3. "EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW, and EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS (Romans 14:11, Philipians 2:10) " MR. Strobel… Jesus just proved that truth to you. Yesterday The Apostle Paul, the CHIEF of sinners, Today you and me, and tomorrow…. the World! 1 Timothy 2:3-4 "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; WHO WILL HAVE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. "

  4. So Christianity is not a blind faith after all. It is convincing, compelling, logical and reasonable story. You don't need sword, you don't need lying. Lord Jesus thank you. Almighty father thank you. Holy Spirit thank you. Christianity is real compelling and rationally explainable. Hallelujah. I love you Lord. I love Lee's story too

  5. "Lee Strobel spent two years of his life studying, researching, learning everything he could in order to disprove the resurrection and deity of Christ." Sounds like a huge pile of bovine excrement to me.

    From RationalWiki

Lee Strobel (1952–) is a popular Christian apologist, creationist, journalist, intelligent design proponent, author of several books, charlatan, and host of a television program called Faith Under Fire.

Strobel's "shtick" is to present himself both as an investigative reporter (somewhat true – Strobel was once the legal editor of the Chicago Tribune) and a former atheist. For a self-professed investigative reporter, he seems utterly incapable of asking difficult questions, providing citations for his claims, confronting people when they make overly vague or conflicting statements if said statements cohere with his views or assertions, and seems to take The Bible at face value without argument. Likewise, his description of his atheist past sounds suspiciously like the way atheists are depicted by Christians (e.g. that he was rejecting God, despite knowing or suspecting that He existed(!), in order to be able to sin freely[1]).

Furthermore, he rarely interviews people critical of his position and when he does quote them, the quotes are usually superficial and used as a strawman argument for the following text. Comments that support his position are often taken at face value, without analysis or scrutiny and there is almost never any investigation of the claims made which are in support of his arguments.

  6. I didn't grow up with any religion but now I've left home and live on my own I am interested to find out if any gods are true or not. I went through school and have just finished University with only science as a knowledge base.
Can I ask if it is very important to understand about this subject and more importantly can you know if it's true or does no one really know?

  7. Lee Strobel is a joke. Terrible book, even worse documentary.

Jesus is a fictional character. The New Testament is nothing more than a retelling of the Old Testament while change the main characters to Jesus.

  8. Isn't a book that portrays a bunch of fictional interviews as if they really happened going to put people off belief rather than drive them towards it? A liar for Jesus is the last person needed to make a case for Christ.

  9. Too many ppl as well as me at one time in my life (I've always believed in God but I was apart from him and living in horrible sins) go there saying this can't be true, I need proves, scientific proves and stuff. Too many lost, in insignificant philosophies, fooling themselves thinking that they are the owners of their lives when they are moved by the materialistic owners of this world and are like a pure puppet behind the TV screen, news, feed content, even social media, wasting their lives with a bend over their eyes and a pair of threads on their arms and legs pointing to the supermarket to consume and consume, pubs, drugs, to have a "normal life" full with pain and emptiness, you gotta realize if you live in a life like that actually nothing matters and you're just a bunch of bones taking up space, but it doesn't have to be that way… Listen to your conscience ur heart, go seek him you'll find him if you look with all your heart Jeremiah 23:13
I might find my purpose I like science, since child I studied hard by myself, dispute sin apart me from my vocation through my adolescent yrs but I know I can go back and be a very remarkable software developer, and I want to prove, shoe and deliver that God not only exists but he's always wit ya and willing to know and start being with him

  10. The 4 E's:
    1. Execution – Was Jesus really dead at the cross? All historical documents support that he was in fact dead on the cross.
    2. Early – Secular Investigations performed a few years after the resurrection confirmed the event happened. Notwithstanding, there were hundreds of people that have gone on historical records (secular and theistic) that the resurrection happened.
    3. Empty – The tomb is empty. Even the enemies of Jesus admitted that the body was gone.
    4. Eyewitnesses – Historical records prove Jesus appears alive in dozens of situations to thousands of people after the resurrection event.

  11. Very compelling but there’s still no empirical, scientific, repeatable evidence.Empty tomb? Oh yes, must’ve resurrected! Right. See Matt Dillahunty’s response on Atheist Experience 16th November 2008. Evidently Mr Strobel has been giving this same speech for 10 years+

  12. Is it me or is this just the worst thing to listen? Lee Strobel has been debunked many times.
    Still if;
"""Lee Strobel, an American Christian apologetic author and former investigative journalist has a net worth of $8 million"""
I guess the gullible keep him in private jets. I don't think god sees much of the 8 million dollars.

  13. Will you go to Heaven?
Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain?
Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish.

Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Then Jesus rose from the grave, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you. (living waters/ray comfort)
    God bless
