  1. Trying to be happy. There seems to be no way. I am a christain. I love Jesus and belive with all my heart. Lost my first wife. I killed 7 people in a car accident my wife and brother in law included. I only survived. Just got divorced after 13 years marriage. I love and miss my wife more than I can bear. I want to die and go to my father I heaven. I have no desire to live. I have tried I have prayed. Tired of satan beating me and constantly at me. He always seems to win. My prayer is to go home to Jesus. There is no point here. I am afraid to speak with and to interact with my daughter. That relationship is also not well. This will be the 4th time I want to attempt suicide. I have PTSD and suffer from survivors guilt to add fuel to the fire. I have no fear of death and actually want to die but am a coward and have not got it right yet. I belive that my daughter will be better off with out a disturbed father. I am sorry but this is what I want. No one reads these things anyway so its a nice way to vent without getting noticed.

  2. I sold my soul to the devil by taking a slice of fruit that my sister offered to me saying it is soul food. I repented of this and said am sorry to Jesus. What else can I do to ensure my salvation in Christ?

  3. ANYONE CAN BE SAVED BY BELIEVING & TRUSTING THE GOSPEL.

…that the promise by FAITH of Jesus Christ might be given to them that BELIEVE. (Galatians 3:22)

…to them which should hereafter BELIEVE on him to life everlasting. (1 Timothy 1:16)

…to whom it shall be imputed, if we BELIEVE on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. (Romans 4:24-25)

In whom ye also TRUSTED, AFTER that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER that ye BELIEVED, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. (Ephesians 1:13)

Even the righteousness of God which is by FAITH of Jesus Christ unto ALL and upon ALL them that BELIEVE: for there is no difference: (Romans 3:22)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to EVERY one that BELIEVETH; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE. (1 Corinthians 1:21)

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the FAITH of Jesus Christ, even we have BELIEVED in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16)

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not TRUST in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we TRUST that he will yet deliver us; (2 Corinthians 1:9-10)

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye HEARD of it, and KNEW the grace of God in truth: (Colossians 1:5-6)

THE GOSPEL SIMPLY REQUIRES YOU TO PLACE ALL OF YOUR FAITH IN
THE DEATH, BURIAL & RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST AND THE BLOOD HE SHED ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR SALVATION

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that…

CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures; and that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures: (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1:7)

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (Colossians 1:15-16)

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself.
    (Colossians 1:20)

…But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ Died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be
saved by his life. (Romans 5:8-10)

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us…

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. (Ephesians 2:13)

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; (Romans 3:24-25)

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;…

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
    (Colossians 2:13-15)

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (Galatians 2:21)

  4. Amen. May the Lord help us in Christ face our tomorrow with Faith in Christ , not with fear but with faith in Christ. help us ( you and me) to face everything with God's perspectives. In Jesus'name, I pray. Amen. Amen also to Romans 8:28. t :). 2 Corinthians 4:7. 2 Corinthians 4:1-18( Treasure in jars of Clay). Philippians 4:4-7, 9.

  5. Some Inaccuracies In the Book The Purpose driven life by Rick Warren

The Purpose Driven Life misrepr esents scripture from the outset. The basis of 40 days is faulty. Warren states that whenever God wanted to prepare someone for his purposes, he took 40 days. He then gives the following examples:

Noah’s life transformed by 40 days of rain. WRONG – THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN NOAH’S LIFE- THE FLOOD WAS JUDGMENT ON THE WORLD, NOT PREPARING NOAH FOR GOD’S PURPOSES.

Moses transformed by 40 days on Mt. Sinai. MOSES WAS TRANSFORMED 40 YEARS TAKING CARE OF THE FLOCK OF JETHRO

Spies transformed by 40 days in the Promised Land. 2 OF THE SPIES WERE FAITHFUL AND NOT CHANGED, 10 WERE FAITHLESS

David transformed by Goliath’s 40-day challenge. DAVID HEARD ABOUT THE CHALLENGE AFTER THE 40 DAYS HAD ALREADY HAPPENED.

Elijah transformed when God gave him 40 days from a single meal. NO RECORD OF CHANGE IN ELIJAH’S LIFE?

Entire city of Nineveh transformed when God gave the people 40 days to change.NO THEY FASTED IMMEDIATELY REPENTED OF THEIR SINS IMMEDIATELY.

The Bible does not maintain that whenever God wanted to prepare someone for his purposes, he took 40 days. This is an example of scripture being misused to back up the author’s thoughts and to try to persuade the reader of the importance of the book.

    Spirit Led or Purpose Driven?

The Bible states in Romans 8:14…

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

The Word of God teaches that Christians are LED by the Spirit, NOT driven by a purpose.  As believers, we are to OBEY the Word of God as our Final Authority.  The Holy Spirit ALWAYS leads a believer using the Word of God.  God DOES have a purpose for the Christian's life (Romans 8:28; Ephesians 1:11),   Rick Warren is correct to say that God has a purpose for our life, but you would not find it in this book.

I conclude with comments of on person who reviewed the book:
I'm tired of all the "experts" who claim to have all the answers to our life.  Romans 8:26-28 states, "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."  Hindsight is 20/20; but the future is uncharted territory.  Oftentimes, we will not know what to do next in life.

What decisions should we make?  What do we do?  Romans 8:28 states that there will be times when we won't even know what to pray.  All we can do is seek God's wisdom from His Word, ask the Holy Spirit to guide us, make the best decisions we can, and then trust upon the Lord.  The Word of God teaches us to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit (John 16:13), not expect to be DRIVEN by a purpose.  Although God does have a purpose for each believer, there is nothing in the Scriptures which would lead us to expect to be driven by it.  The love of the truth may compel us, but it is ultimately the Spirit of God that drives us as believers (Zechariah 4:6).

This world is filled with people who THINK they are doing God's will, but they are serving the Devil (Matthew 7:21-23).  Just because you THINK you have a purpose in life doesn't legitimize your cause or means.

As believers, we understand that our purpose here on earth is to PLEASE GOD (Revelation 4:11).  Hebrews 11:6 tells us that it is impossible to please God without faith.  Faith unlocks the windows of Heaven.  Faith is what causes us to do things for God.  If anything, the Christian life is a FAITH-DRIVEN life, not a purpose-driven life.  It is our faith in Jesus Christ that causes us to OBEY the Word of God, as the Holy Spirit leads us.

  6. Small group is changing my life. I have been a solo Christian in my household. My family has not been apart of my growth, but I pray daily that God will change their hearts and I am claiming all things work together to those who love God!! If you're not in a small group, I totally recommend it to honestly share, pray, and love them. It is awesome to know others who share the same struggles and who will pray and encourage you. Thank you Pastor Rick for today's word!

  7. Pastor Rick, your experience that you have faced, during Matthew's time, has taught me to live by faith and courage by the help of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ. I always look to you as an example, when I am facing a hard time and say what would Pastor Rick do???. By your one experience in life, you have gained many children through your message and I am one of them. I hope that many people come to Christ through your book and messages.

You will healed Pastor Rick of you cold, sore throat. I will pray for you.

I am sorry in advance Pastor Rick, if by any way I have hurt you with these words.
