Robert Barron | – A Cathedral in Print: Read the Bible Like Never Before

Friends, unlike some study Bibles, which insert just a few standalone pages of commentary at select points throughout the text, the commentary in “The Word on Fire Bible” is woven in and around every passage of the Scriptures. Each page of this Bible was custom designed to emphasize beauty and illuminate the Scriptures.

In fact, the first volume of “The Word on Fire Bible” includes over 90,000 words of commentary, which means there is roughly a 1:1 ratio of commentary to biblical text.

As many of you know, we launched “The Word on Fire Bible” in June and were blown away by your response and excitement. Demand was about 10 times more than we anticipated, and we completely sold out of 50,000 copies in the first week.

But the good news is that over 280,000 more copies of “The Word on Fire Bible” have just arrived at our warehouse in Illinois. My team tells me that’s about 37 semi-trucks, or about 420 tons, worth of Bibles!

  1. Your Excellency I bought this bible from a catholic bookstore in amarillo tx. I read the first few chapters of Matthew and was so moved with it and the notes and extras made my heart rise to a new height. I normally just read it and not digest it well. And to think I didn't want another bible! God bless you and all involved in this beautiful achievement unto our Lord. ❤️ Forever

  2. There is a big difference between reading the Bible and studying the Bible. I'm not sure how well a traditional book stands up against Bible software, even the free kind. I imagine it's a preference between the access to much more information via the internet versus the feel of a book.

  3. Will this piece of art be available in Germany or Europe in general? I would be very happy to add it to my bookshelf and read it and meditate on the commentaries.
The catholic world in Germany is much too small and i wish we had all the things you have in the USA

By the way: i bought your book about Thomas Aquinas, Bishop Barron, and it really made me love Thomism

  4. The darkness of their hearts is known by their words… Saint Cyril says; When at last you present yourself before Christ? And if your sins prevent you from drawing nigh, and you never cease to fall – for, as the Psalm says, ‘what man knows his faults?’ – will you remain without partaking of the sanctification that gives life for eternity?”
