  1. Bishop Barron, I have a question. You take Genesis 1-11 as figurative theology but the New Testament authors including Jesus Christ as well as the book of Exodus refer to these events as literal events seemingly? Why is that? Thank you in advance.

  2. Pauline christianity
    Dear brothers and sisters,,

Persuasion methodology in the Quran-Early creation in the Quran:

    Church evidence:

In the Encyclopedia of Christian Knowledge, the Bible Series No. 9, entitled "Introduction to the Criticism of the holy Book" by bible scholar Riad Yusef Daoud, page 6 “Example: Peter's confession of the deity of Christ. Jesus asked his disciples, "Who am I in your opinion?" Peter's answer was different in the Gospel of Matthew than the rest of the Gospels: Matthew 16:16 "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Mark 8:29 "You are the Christ." Luke 9:20: "The Messiah of God." And John 6:69 "You are the Holy One of God." What did Peter actually say?”

The author bible scholar Riad continues:
“Peter's testimony in the Gospel of Matthew indicates that he had understood the mystery of Jesus at that time, which contradicts the disciples’ concept of the nature of the Messiah in the Gospels because they did not know this secret before the resurrection. It can simply be said that when Peter's confession was recorded, it was interpreted in the light of the resurrection.”

Quranic rebuttal (using rational analysis and scribal proof from the Gospels):

    Who is Peter?
Peter is one of the 12 disciples (students) of Jesus of Mary.

Apparently, Doctor Riad found textual contradictions and he is trying to justify it using rational judgement. Doctor Riad is trying to justify that a monotheist (someone who claims no God except the creator) can claim himself 100% man and 100% God if he died and then resurrects.

Let us read the resurrection accounts. Go to King James Version. To read Jesus resurrection accounts Go to Mark 16:09-20.

The resurrection accounts in KJV Mark 16:9-20 do not exist in the oldest manuscripts Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus. Go to Codex Sinaiticus Codex Sinaiticus Home Page http://www.codexsinaiticus.org/en/ In the upper right hand corner find "Go To Book". select Mark. Then select chapter 16. you will not find these verses. it was not written by the Original scribe. It is an insertion.

If you don’t find these verses in the original & oldest manuscripts (Greek are oldest not Aramaic), then: 1- Chapter 16 ends in verse 08 the man standing at the Tomb. full stop. Jesus did not meet with any disciple after the Tomb was found empty. So he did not change the original faith. There is no secret faith and preached faith. Old faith and new faith.
2- If Mark 16:9-20 is omitted, there is no account of the resurrection.
3-Peter did not say "son of god". Who forged Peter testimony?

All the 12 disciples testified in the gospels that Jesus of Mary is 100% man. We end up with 12 testimonies that Jesus is 100% man and 1 forged testimony that Jesus is 100% man and 100% God=12 disciples. What will the court ruling be?

Quran [3:78-80] Al Mighty states: “78-And indeed, there is among them a party who alter the scripture with their tongues so you may think it is from the Scripture, but it is not from the Scripture. And they say, “This is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah. And they speak untruth about Allah while they know. 79-It is not for a human being that Allah should give him the Scripture and significant judgement and prophet hood and then he would say to the people, “Be servants to me rather than Allah,” but [instead he would say], “be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied. 80-Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims?”

Quran continues many of the fellow Christians know about the insertions but they insist on their conclusion because of excessive love for Jesus. Quran [4:171] (Al Mighty continues): "O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist – it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

  3. Bishop Barren sorry to say but you are on the wrong side of the track if you worship the dead and do things that are out of the Bible, because the Bible says, Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’ ” Luke 4:8 NIV

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

    Matthew 4:10 KJV

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

    John 4:24 KJV

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

    Acts 4:12 KJV

Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

    Deuteronomy 5:9 KJV

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    John 14:6 KJV

And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

    Matthew 23:9 ESV
