11:37 Bishop Barron the Bible says that God DOES change his mind. There are many examples. When God decided to destroy mankind with a flood, he repented of the fact that he has made man on earth. When Jonah was sent to Nineveh to warn the wicked people, God changed his mind and decided NOT to destroy them (thus infuriating the prophet). When the prophet was sent to Hezekiah to tell him he would shortly die, he repented, and God changed his mind, thus adding years to his life. These are just a few scenarios but I'm sure there are more.
Rather than giving us the things that we want, God gives us the things that we need, to promote our goodness rather than to indulge our desires.
And so begins the great cleansing of this heinous world, for I am inevitable. I will set the stage for the arrival of the son of David, for his time is near.
He was a man whose tongue held no lies,
For he was the direct descendant of our father in the heavenly skies.
Born to a body of fleshy sin,
Though what laid beneath was unlike the rest of his kin.
Jesus had the utmost grace,
Never being wavered by evils face.
He was wise beyond any years,
Performing miracles that would bring crowds to tears.
A beacon of light on top of a starless mountain,
Where words of wisdom poured out of him as if there ran a cosmic fountain.
His eyes pierced through you with a single glance,
Leaving even the most hardened individuals in quite the trance.
The holy spirit so ever majestically flowed inside this man,
Naturally people caught notice and became a fan.
Students began showing up from every mold,
When they heard his words their hearts were sold.
Wicked men put a price on Jesus's head,
He was wanted alive or dead.
Despite this he and his disciples continued their teachings,
Where on occasion they endured terrible beatings.
One of the twelve apostles turned to black,
No longer having Jesus's back.
Judas Iscariot had done Satan's bidding,
And it is in hell where he now is sitting.
Jesus died on the cross to pay for our shortcoming,
However don't be saddened for if you believe in him you will see him at your homecoming.
There he sits at the right hand of God's throne,
Being the voice of truth and love that we all have known.
Wobbling on the edge of utter desolation,
Where thoughts of death become a fascination.
I take a step backwards and continue to sway,
Is this the final hand that I will play?
While what lays behind me is probably eternal rest,
Is this decision the very best?
Death is certain and that much I know,
However there is still life in me left to flow.
Perhaps this anguish can evolve,
Maybe this question isn't impossible to solve.
If I pay a visit to the abyss,
There are so many things here that I will miss.
Some things good and some things bad,
Joyful events and those which are sad.
When will this perspective shift?
I desperately need my spirits to lift.
I look in the mirror and remember every scar,
The result of my despair I need not look far.
Thoughts race through me, shackles tighten,
I scream and then peculiarly my sense of awareness begins to heighten.
A new thought washes through my being,
I take a second glance in the mirror unsure of what I'm seeing.
The burden within me feels far lighter,
A winning result for this righteous fighter.
The ground stops shaking and I gain some composure,
Taking a step towards what was once an enclosure.
Shadows fade away revealing what they left in the dark,
Being pulled forward my soul begins to embark.
Love the current Pope but in the future I would love to see Bishop Barron as the next Pope
PRAYERS work as follows::Almighty God Jesus has heard your prayers and will protect you and your loved ones and your favourite country
from fires,landslides, hurricanes,tsunamis, cancer,His beautifully designed Ebola-virus or
He will neither protect you nor your loved ones nor your favourite country , because
a) He has other plans with you and your loved ones and your favourite country and it is n o t your job to interfere with His plans, (how dare you!)
and/or b) Almighty God acts in mysterious ways:Like killing your familiy in an earthquake or washing away your country with a freaking tsunami or destroying everything with a mighty fire.
I don’t quite understand the Aquinas explanation on love, though I’m sure there’s an answer;
What about those born with disabilities? Is that not ‘loving less’, since they weren’t willed with the same abilities?
I’m sure I’m just misunderstanding somewhere. But I’d appreciate some help!
It seems like Christians believe God changed his mind between the Old and New Testaments… from law and one person to grace and 3 persons. That's the main reason Jews don't accept the New Testament
I was only able to like this episode, but in fact I loved it ❤
I cannot recommend highly enough reading the book “Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence” by Saint Claude de la Colombière.
神愛罪人, 但神恨惡罪行
I love the old Godzilla movies better too! God bless Bishop!
the unmoved mover is Aristotelian and clearly a pagan conception of god. however, in the old testament, a jewish text, we find god repenting, relenting, and considering whether or not to do things. how do you reconcile these competing views?
Every single time I am listening to Bishop Barron one thought always comes back to me: "there is no replacement for this guy, who will be doing this work of proliferation once he ceases doing it?". I do not know anyone who can come close to him regarding religious questions. JPB is a spark of hope but he fights another battle, a very good one but still not the most crucial one. I am really afraid that some 50 years from now religion in today´s shape will be very rare and if it still exists it will be twisted so heavily that the real truth will be hidden. For example all Bible texts will be surely revised regarding gender within a few decades, words like "sons" will be replaced by "children" etc. The majority of Biblical stories are about men which will also be untenable so they will have to be retold from another perspective. Really tough times lie ahead for believers. Of course there is a hope that once mankind loses God completely Jesus will return to restore order but it is another matter…
PLEASE planning campaign missionaries in India Kashmir State.
Oh. I thought it was oogling God and I was going wait what?
But Abraham changed God's mind in Genesis 18:16 when he kept kept bargaining down, until God agreed not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah…"if even 50/45/40/30/10 righteous people lived there."
pre ee ee pare ye the way of the lord
Could you clarify something you said near the beginning of your video? So far, I do not understand why you worded it as God “loving” the angels more than man.
Sure, I get that angels were gifted with far greater power, knowledge, intellects, and inherent perfectibility than humans. But love, especially the agape definition, usually implies a willingness to self-sacrifice for the good of the other. For mankind, God so loved that world that he became one of us, even suffering and entering into death as a martyr, so that we may be saved and redeemed. Arguably, it seems God’s love at least displays itself to mankind far more than to the angels, for whom God made no such gesture of self-sacrifice (not that the angels needed it, though, since their knowledge and intellects were so perfected from the start that they could more immediately decide once and for all whether to serve God’s will). Even if we define love by how much something is gifted/graced, God still commanded many of the angels to serve and guide us, while also making Mary the Queen of Heaven and Earth instead of Lucifer. So it seems that, while us meek humans lack the power, intellect, and perfection of angels, we are more gifted/graced than the angels in other instances.
Maybe people think God changes his mind through prayer.

Hi Bishop Barron, thank you for your videos! As a young Catholic I really appreciate your commitment to sharing the deep foundations of our faith. Amen to the true, the good, and the beautiful! I did, however, just want to let you know that mentioning that only a "mentally ill" person would contemplate why they are not an angel doesn't quite settle well. I know that you know that mental illness is a real thing that affects many people in different ways. Perhaps consider more carefully what using the phrase "mental illness" can mean next time? Blessings from Wisconsin!
Recently I was searching safari for “how to fight demonic…” and I was going to finish with “oppression.” But there was only one default and it was not “oppression.” The one default was “how to fight demonic gorillas.”
What?? Why are all you people searching how to fight demonic gorillas? Is this a problem of which I’m unaware? If it’s really that common, I think Bishop Barron should do a video on it.
I have a question. It maybe one that everyone knows, but I have always wondered. If God knows the past, present, and future, does he know who will go to heaven before they even die? ( i know it sounds like a dumb question)
Today's reflection from the Society of the Little Flower's site sheds some more light on whether God loves some more than others: "How short-sighted His creatures can be! They find a soul whose lights surpass their own; they think the Lord loves them less. Yet when did He lose the right to use one of his children to provide others with the nourishment they need?"
Praise the Lord our God for the gift of Bishop Robert Barron. Even when speaking about punishment, he presses down to the core and reminds me of the truth that when we human beings dole out punishment, our sense of retribution is party and an evil to be rooted out.
Bishop Barron, I'm intrigued by your statement that "God doesn't have sentiments." Does not Jesus' weeping and deep emotion at the tomb of Lazarus, for example, express authentic "sentiment"? Not in the sense of self-indulgent emotion, but rather in terms of real, felt emotion of loss, suffering, and so on?
So glad we have Bishop Barron.
You can eat in Spain at anytime Bishop ….what part of Spain are you referrering to
“To exist is a good” lit my soul on fire
The Spanish do a lot if things in the middle of the night which is as strange for Brits as it is for Americans! I think the explanation is that the daytime heat!
God exists in the eternal present – all time is immediately present to him.
I object to the way Bishop Barron seemed to say God automatically loves angels more than man. That seems like something that matters on a case by case basis. For the most part God loves angels more, but certainly he loves Mary more than all angels. It seems that Saints such as John the Evangelist, Catherine of Siena, Paul, and many others are likely more loved than many angels.
The point is google is not a source if you want to know about such things, bible is
Religion is part of the secular mind control. If it weren't so, they wouldn't allow it on the internet and their platforms. And yet they do. Google has 308 pages each with 25 images of jesus on each page. Classic controlled opposition. Youtube is even more flagrant with maybe millions of videos of jesus and religion under the guise of freedom to publish. These are known secularist but then why would they allow this!!! I'm posing this as a question but I already know the answer. God is not a good guy that they insist! He rules us with a set of problems he has the answer for already! Understand if he knows the future why do it then. Separate the good and the bad without the suffering. But suffering is what produces what they need! The fifth element "Quanta" The force that powers this reality! I post negative secularist videos on youtube and my reach is nothing. Shouldn't my vids. be promoted by a secularist platform instead of shouted down!?!?!?!?!?!?!The duality is the reoccurring theme in a ton of movies and series. Saw Star Trek continues with some added cliches about morals dilemmas and moral decay yesterday. Understand without the duopoly there is not conflict. So why write so much in to this reality?!?!?!?! Think it through and pay mind to this occurrence.
Cool, God must have love these you both more than me in the measure of intellectually knowing the love of God.
I hope Brandon and Bishop Barron discuss why men have different cultural, traditional concepts of God ?
Albertuybishop
God loves everyone. And it's an objective truth.
Well done as always Bishop… I would have thought … "Does God … EXIST" I was surprised it was not high on the list. It's what most people seem to ask me.
These programs are so informative and helpful! Due to health problems I stay home a lot now and these are so interesting and helpful to me learn more about the truth that matters most to us human beings. God made each of us and loves each of us and wants the best for each of us! He wants US in HEAVEN with Him when we die! There we will be with Him and his ANGELS and his saints FOREVER! If we sin and are not sorry for our SINS and don't repent and change our WAYS to do good and AVOID EVIL and HARM and SIN; then we will end up in hell with the DEVIL and his MINIONS and DEMONS who hate God and all of us human beings! They will torment and torture US there forever! There is no leaving hell! We Catholics believe in what is called PERGATORY where we go after death if we are not ready to be in HEAVEN quite yet! It is a place of learning and suffering until we understand what we did wrong in our lives and learn how it affected others and ourselves! But we will eventually go to HEAVEN when we are ready! We Catholics have sacraments that help us if we use them with correct thinking, saying, and doing! Mostly we need to know that GOD made us and everything ELSE that is! He made the ANGELS and SATAN and some other ANGELS said No to GOD! 1/3 of them fell from HEAVEN to the earth for deciding not to serve GOD! They were rebellious and understood what they were doing and what the consequences were! God loves each of us in the human beings race and wants the best for each of us! We Catholics believe that GOD will HELP US with everything we need help with and punish us out of love for US as needed! We do not always see or understand what is happening in our lives and sometimes resent SUFFERING and pain and problems and DIEING! But dieing has happened since the fall of our first parents; Adam and EVE! We were kicked out of the garden of Eden and baptism brings us back to union with GOD! Not everyone knows about the necessity of baptism and the other sacraments and the children in the wombs who died before and after birth that did not know or understand GOD 'S HOLY love have special considerations as do people who didn't have a chance to learn about GOD! We Catholics pray to GOD and the ANGELS and the SAINTS and the people in PERGATORY for ourselves and others needs to seek help! We on EARTH pray in turn for the souls in PURGATORY to get to HEAVEN as soon as possible! We ask for relief for them! We Catholics believe that we are to pray together and alone and listen to GOD and GOD will HELP us understand what we need to do and what we should not do! The DEVIL and GOD are always against each other! GOD loving us and wanting good for US and the DEVIL hating us all and trying to get us to sin and go to hell where we don't want to be ever! GOD is always good! The devil is always bad! He and his crew are smart ANGELS GOD made and trick us and tempt us all to sin and do evil! The DEVIL has been a liar and a deceiver from the beginning! GOD will HELP us! We need to keep close to GOD and to our Mama Mary and all the SAINTS and the good ANGELS! AMEN!
“There’s not one humming bird that falls that God is not aware of.”
Looking forward to more and newer podcasts. Thank you so much!!
This is pretty good but Godzilla???? Really, this has helped me think about a spiritual problem I'm working on. Gives me perspective but I still don't have an answer.
Oh I ran across the thing about bowing the head for Jesus (and Mary too), in Minnesota in a parish. I had never heard it before.
I am no Catholic, but I do enjoy listening to a wide field of Christian theology so I may better understand the faith as a whole. It’s illuminating.
