  1. Great videos I’m learning so much! Easy to understand. Would be awesome if you can turn the pictures and the narrative into a book to help explain these to others! Great job !!! Thank you!

  2. Thank you BibleProject for the way you convey the books of the bible. I am able to understand the stories and the connections between them. Your method of teaching complements me a lot for I am a visual learner. I appreciate all the hard work that is put into these videos. God Bless.

  3. I don't understand why you said these laws are for the Israelites not for us. We changed our ways now it's become very narrow to follow his commandments. Yes we no longer do any sacrifice because eternal sacrifice is done. Did bible say laws are only for the Israelites not for the rest. If your comment is true then the commandments belongs only to them do is the blessings. The laws are beautiful if we accept Christ we can live with that like helping poor. Being nice to neighbors. Marry a slave don't touch her until then. Sin are forgiven by the cross the way is still narrow. I don't understand how some of us use verse thats easy for our lives and ignore certain verse because it's not easy to abide. If you love your God you imitate him in your life. If we all love our neighbors there wouldn't be any murder crimes and many more. Each of us living for each one in his grace.

  4. Israelites were able to establish their identity because of Moses' law.
Moses is the hero who liberated his people from oppressors, established Judaism with the Ten Commandments and the Laws, and reborn his people as a community named Israel.

  5. So im confused. I researched the Code of Hammurabi, code of Ur Namu and the Middle Assyrian Laws… and they really dont seem that much different from the law for the Israelites. How does this prove that God was actually making moves towards social justice??

  6. DEUTERONOMY

Father: "There are many things throughout the Bible that I can reinstate to you but one of the important ones that is not commonly taught on is the honouring of the fathers, lest you forget. Just like the soldiers fighting in World War 2, sacrificing their lives to give you the peace that you have today, your fathers of old laid down the foundations for you to have spiritually what you have today – the increase of knowledge, the abundance of wisdom, and the access to cross over in the new. Your generation is very quick to forget the freedom your fellow soldiers gave you because it has become complacent and takes everything for granted. But worse than this, you are quick to forget what your spiritual fathers sacrificed for you so you might walk in the new. In order to embrace the new, you must remember the lessons of your fathers and do not forsake them. Learn from their wisdom and do not follow their same follies. If you desire to progress in the things of Me, this is a crucial step that must be done or else you will fade out in the wilderness like the old generation did. Indeed they forgot the works I did for them in Egypt and therefore perished because of it, unable to enter the new.

But you My son, hold fast to the foundations laid down by your fathers as Joshua and Caleb did, always remembering to walk in humility, honour and love. Never forget to see privilege for the work I have done for you, and how I brought you out of the world and into My kingdom. Never forsake a heart of gratitude, as this is a spiritual weapon against the enemy. This is My reinstatement to you and this is how you will progress and cross over into the promise land of the new. Indeed I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose life that you may live."

  8. Hold up. Something's off here.
You said that the land of Canaan is where people worshiped gods that represent everything about creation, right? If this was really the promised land, why is it in direct violation of the first two commandments?

  9. Ugh it’s so confusing. I’m doing bible study. Please help.

Like how did they know God was offering water and stuff like that? How does He even tell them?

And also we’re meant to listen and love and wait on the Lord of course, but I don’t understand how it relates to their story. What were they needing to listen and love for? Of course they sent back to Egypt, they would be spending half their lives walking.

And why would they have to walk 40+ years to get to the Promised Land?

    Thanks in advance

  10. Moses said one other curse in the last chapter of Deuteronomy 28:68 that would happen to Israel if ( note if ) they didn't keep God commandments now you have to ask yourself did they keep his commandments ? No. So what did Moses tell in vs 68? The only people ever in history that ever went into slavery on slave ships was who? Remember the Atlantic slave trade that's the people of the book note all the other curses as well, we still are cursed today, them people over in Israel are not the people of God!!
