The Chosen | – Bible Verses We Don't Like

Writing The Chosen, from the show itself to the devotionals and Bible studies, means we have to explore and wrestle with Scripture more than we ever have. And we take that very seriously. Which means we have to face our own weaknesses and the verses we don’t like or understand.

But there’s good news.

About The Author

The Chosen WHY A TV SERIES ABOUT JESUS? We've been making movies for some of the biggest studios in Hollywood for 20 years. But a subject this important shouldn't be entrusted to Hollywood. It needs to be made by us. Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, I am doing a new thing..." The Chosen is a new thing. * How it was financed is new: We're the #1 highest crowd-funded media project of all time -- over $10 million from over 19,000 people. * The content is new: We're the first-ever multi-season show about the life of Christ. * The way to watch it is new: We're the first show to have our own app that connects directly to your streaming devices. No subscription needed. Just search "The Chosen" where you get apps and download to your phone. * How it's reaching the world is new: The show is free, but by "paying it forward," you help ensure people around the world can see it -- we're currently in every country. Welcome to a new thing!

  1. What do you do when your faith fails? You surrender in love. You fall back on love. Love never fails. You say to God, I love You. I want You and Your will, no matter what…It's not easy, but love will make you do it…

  2. Thank you for being so open, honest and vulnerable. Life is hard, but God is good. "In this life you will have troubles, but take heart, I have overcome the world!" John 16:33. It's through the hard stuff we grow closer to He who created us and loves us so much. ❤️

  3. Very hard to accept that, for many people, much of the good stuff promised won't be in this life. Many read the miracles and then are called to accept "no, not in this life" from God.

  4. Thank you Amanda, Kristen & Dallas for this Devotional. For being so candid & raw. This is the season in my life where I really need it. I just started it & I am looking forward to diving deep into the words & meaning.

  5. Thankful for your candidness, I am having some health issues and know by Jesus stripes I am healed but in the waiting to see it manifest I am having struggles praying at times. I am looking forward to getting this devotional. I left a Church and felt God speaking to me to give support to a ministry this morning. I was scrolling and felt lead to open this video out of hundreds in my subscribed list.
Total God lead! This is so on point to my walk right now!
P J …( praise Jesus) I thank God for you and pray for your continued growth in Jesus Christ.

  6. Thank you for following God's calling with The Chosen. I discovered The Chosen around Christmas time 2020. Of course 2020 was hard for everyone, but there were also many blessings and I count The Chosen as a large blessing. My mother passed away the day before Thanksgiving 2020 after declining in health over the year and especially in the month before. She was in an assisted living facility for 3 weeks (meaning we couldn't see her and she was not able to talk on the phone) and we brought her home on hospice the day before she passed on to heaven. Thankfully my sister was able to get there before she passed and my mom knew her. Then 10 days later, I had a total knee replacement. So the Christmas season was a struggle for me. The Chosen has helped me to heal. I just ordered the 2 devotional books and I am looking forward to receiving them and see how God speaks to me thru them.

  7. How this really works is: Translations like kjv would italicize when they would add to scripture to help understand context “hopefully that was their motive”. Now the rules have been changed. The niv has taken the don’t add or subtract warning verses and have changed the meaning by instituting their own interpretation of scripture. Could give multiple examples.

  8. Thank you so much for this video. Hope everyone reading this comment will consider what I am saying. We are living in a very wicked time where daily laws, people, and schooling is changing so fast we are not sure what to trust and what to stand by. There is someone that is never changing the same today, yesterday and forever.
Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Jesus can be trusted without question.
We are not promised tomorrow and know not when we will take out last breath. Please call upon him today.
John 3:15  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  9. Our flesh and carnal minds may dislike some verses (Rom 8:7), but our spirit rejoices and feeds on these truths! As we seek Him and allow Him to renew our minds by the washing of the word of God, our inner, new creation man grows. Christ in us is the only hope of glory. God bless <3

  10. YES Amanda! HE is very intentional about putting things in front of us! Being a Christian is no ''stroll'' for me. l think a lot of us are going through the Wilderness right now. l love you guys! ALL GLORY goes to The KING of Kings, and LORD of Lords! 🙂

  11. Clearly, "Christian ministries" on YOUTUBE that say yes to the monetization offer from Satan don't like the Scriptures that tell ministers of the Gospel (and every other Christian) not to do this. Jesus said no. Period.

  12. Evangelicals hate any verse that proves the existence of the church Jesus founded and John 6 where Jesus said “ If you do not eat my Body and drink my Blood you will have no life in you. For my body is true food and my blood true drink. Do this in memory of me.” And nobody can have a relationship like the Catholic Church who has the Bread of Life taken within them every day at the holy Mass. now THAT is a relationship. This movie is so unbiblical it’s not funny. Dallas made a lot of money off the backs of people.

  13. My youngest daughter now 21 has had Diabetes since age 6, Many times I was angry , I did pray a lot ,I was not emotionally mature enough to handle this , What hurt was when others ,strangers would accuse me of giving her diabetes . Sorry you gals struggled, I do relate , Prayers .

  14. I have an adult daughter that has had a mental breakdown in the past month. She is now under a doctor's care. They are trying to figure out what happened. Praying for beauty from the ashes.

  15. I was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and I wish my mom would have cried out with a prayer like Kristen talked about. Even though God has healed me of the major effects of those issues, I still have to live at home and it’s so hard seeing her refuse Jesus on almost a daily basis.

  16. How about the verses that clearly describe Jesus as being a human and only a human. Go look at 1John 4:2-3 where it specifically says that those who do not believe Jesus was a human is anti Christ. No such thing as a god man. Certainly you don't believe the devil would tempt God to worship him?
Repent and believe the real Jesus!

  17. Does anyone know what the Hebrew sign/symbol is hanging behind Dallas? Dallas also has a tattoo on his wrist in Hebrew, at least I think it’s Hebrew, I’ve been wondering what they mean! If anyone knows or could share that would be so great!
