About The Author

The Chosen WHY A TV SERIES ABOUT JESUS? We've been making movies for some of the biggest studios in Hollywood for 20 years. But a subject this important shouldn't be entrusted to Hollywood. It needs to be made by us. Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, I am doing a new thing..." The Chosen is a new thing. * How it was financed is new: We're the #1 highest crowd-funded media project of all time -- over $10 million from over 19,000 people. * The content is new: We're the first-ever multi-season show about the life of Christ. * The way to watch it is new: We're the first show to have our own app that connects directly to your streaming devices. No subscription needed. Just search "The Chosen" where you get apps and download to your phone. * How it's reaching the world is new: The show is free, but by "paying it forward," you help ensure people around the world can see it -- we're currently in every country. Welcome to a new thing!

  1. My experience has been that, if my initial plans don't work out, it's because the Lord had something even better in the works. Can't wait to see what that "better" turns out to be. From better lighting to an unexpected rainbow to something we can't even imagine right now like maybe some fresh creative inspiration that directs you to shoot part of it in some new way or with a different line – I guarantee you God's got something cool up His sleeve!

  2. The only problem I see with the Jesus of this show is the following. This Jesus is sinning, Matthew 12:36, "But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken." This character says a lot of jokes and idle words. I noticed that from the beginning.

  3. So happy to hear that Dallas' family is in town. He needs their love and support everything with this season will fine because God is all over this. As we know we make plans and you know the rest. BLESSINGS AND CONTINUED GOOD HEALTH FOR THE CAST AND CREW!!

  4. Some of the best actors I've ever seen—all in one place. Where to begin? First, I have to say that Shahar Isaac is one of the best actors I've seen in decades. His facial expressions and timing and delivery of lines are meticulous. I loved the group interaction in The Hammer in episode 4—impeccable timing, wide range of emotions, and Nick Shakoor's portrayal of Zebedee is fantastic. ("Maybe I did; maybe I didn't.') Nick's soft heart comes across in your interviews with him and is so touching. Wow, you couldn't have picked a better actor for Nicodemus! Such great casting everywhere actually. Love the kind-hearted quickly-compliant Andrew, Peter's fiery wife (what great acting with real tears!), the beautifully composed Mary Magdalene (love when she opens the door and sees Jesus!), Matthew the oddly 'fixed' tax collector, and even Quintus & Gaius portrayals draw a viewer in and keep them there. I can't wait to see when Simon Peter denies the Lord, walks on water, and develops into a leader. That will be something to watch Shahar deliver! Of course, my accolades wouldn't be complete without mentioning Jonathan Roumie. Who doesn't think he's the right person for the part? Just wanted to say thanks to ALL of you for making this project —and especially for staying so humble about Who really is behind the scenes making it successful. I was raised in church from a toddler, so I know the stories well, yet I so enjoy seeing the human condition of the characters and how God chooses such an interesting and varied bouquet of individuals to follow him. IMO, The Chosen's actors and the series production belongs right up there alongside the big-boys of Bible dramas (the few movies that are NOT one dimensional). I can only speak for myself, but The Chosen Season One has been voted into my Bible Story Hall of Fame with the big-hitters whose acting is nothing to sneeze at.. . The Ten Commandments (Charlton Heston, Yul Brenner) … The Bible Series:Abraman ( Richard Harris/Barbara Hershey) … and The Bible Series:Joseph (Ben Kingsley, Leslie Ann Warren, Paul Mercurio).

  5. Lol!!! Can you imagine if the Lord Jesus Christ was wearing a mask when He comes to rapture His Bride????? Lol! Seriously!? Wake up you guys! Either believe in Jesus or do NOT believe, it is your choice! This is serious stupidity and drama!!!!!!!!!

  6. Is it true that you are filming on a location owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? I'm a new Christian and shows like this are very helpful to someone like me. My problem is I have left the lds church (Mormon) for Christianity and I'm troubled that you all would work with a religion that teaches a false gospel. I was a member of that church for 43 years and it is built on lies.

  7. "Whoever is free from This sin…cast the first stone" Jesus may have said it This way. Gerald Lund Fishers of Men series introduced me to This idea. I've long wondered what Jesus wrote in the sand…"Where's the man?" She shooting a solo softcore scene!? Anywho This could be good relevant writing for this scene.

  8. When does Jesus brothers and sisters scene come?. I hope this chosen series shows Bible exactly how it is, because I loved the series and had inspired me. Please don't put Catholic ideas in this. Show the original Bible here because this will play a major role in how many divisions view Jesus and Mary and brothers and sisters of Jesus and everything, and use the God gifted talent for his glory. Please. God bless you and your family.

  9. God is good, and it's on His timing. But be careful with the script and the writing within it. Words can open doors too and when your doing something for God, the enemy will always try to intervene but God is always working. He is faithful and will always lead you where you need to go. If the scene, the writing doesn't sit right with you, especially when it pertains to scripture, drop it quickly. Regardless, all things work together for the good to those who LOVE the Lord and who are the called according to HIS purpose (Romans 8:28). God is good! Best wishes on the season 2 shooting! Blessings!

  10. psst….you have more faith in a gov't agency telling you have to wear a mask to protect you from a virus that has a 99.99% recovery. Christians need to lead the way, in faith…not Govt compliance
