About The Author

The Chosen WHY A TV SERIES ABOUT JESUS? We've been making movies for some of the biggest studios in Hollywood for 20 years. But a subject this important shouldn't be entrusted to Hollywood. It needs to be made by us. Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, I am doing a new thing..." The Chosen is a new thing. * How it was financed is new: We're the #1 highest crowd-funded media project of all time -- over $10 million from over 19,000 people. * The content is new: We're the first-ever multi-season show about the life of Christ. * The way to watch it is new: We're the first show to have our own app that connects directly to your streaming devices. No subscription needed. Just search "The Chosen" where you get apps and download to your phone. * How it's reaching the world is new: The show is free, but by "paying it forward," you help ensure people around the world can see it -- we're currently in every country. Welcome to a new thing!

  1. I am a missionary and pastor. I use your production as a talking point for discussion in my sermons. Today as I spoke this very Mary scene was a talking point. Ps I have also paid forward so many can be blessed as I have with your production.

  2. Something I think everyone should know who is starting their walk with Christ. And even for those who are well in it.

You aren't perfect and will never be perfect. None of us are. You will stumble and fall. A lot. But you need to get back up; let Jesus help you get back up and, like Mary, fall into his everlasting arms repentant ready to try again. Keep your eyes on God, working to please him, not people.

And for those stuck because you find praying to be too formal to be fully comfortable with it. Talk to God. Talk to Him like you would talk to your father, as if you could tell him anything and He were sitting right next to you. Any time of the day or night. Though it does help your frame of mind to plan for every morning. I'm not really good at that yet, because I'm usually rushing, but I know it makes a big difference when I am able to do it.

  3. I'm rewatching the first season and loving it! But I'm also wondering why was there no episode about Jesus' baptism or His time in the wilderness being tempted by Satan? Those episodes would have had major impact as well.

  4. Thank you! I recently went to a week-long camp in the mountains. It was really focused on making ourself better, but not as focussed on God. I didn’t have much time to spend with Him, and I felt like I “fell away” from God, just like Mary. God put together a couple of things to speak to me, including this. Mary’s encounter showed me that God only wants my heart. God has been leading me back to Him, and used my experience with camp, along with the timing and creation of this episode to teach me and grow me closer to Him. This was a really important life revelation for me, and God used The Chosen to speak to me! I’ve heard countless stories of how God has used y’all, and I wanted to let y’all know, and encourage y’all to continue, and for others watching, that God is patient, and sometimes waits for a certain season in your life/The Chosen to speak to you, and that you’re not a bad person/not good enough if God hasn’t spoken to you yet. We serve a great God, and His love and ways are amazing!

  5. John Chapter 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father: and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever:
17 Even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 At that day ye shall know that I am in the Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas said unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

  6. Remembering that Jesus only needs our heart is so important! That really spoke to me as I struggle with the sin that works it’s way into our lives everyday ! God sees and knows our heart ! God bless the Chosen crew and all of God’s children ! Let us remember to look up ! Praise God !!!!!!

  7. Reckon yourselves dead to sin because the Law only has power while someone is still alive. You are no longer bound to obeying the Law because Jesus fulfilled it for you. But love the Law because it is God's righteousness revealed. You are no longer a slave to sin, but it has been a schoolmaster for you in showing you how to become more like God. For we are all God's children, growing in knowledge and understanding everyday. At first we are babes, then we are weaned and become more self aware each new day, but then we mature and go through puberty, where we eventually come to a point where all we want is sex. Likewise, when we have become spiritually mature in such a way we will want nothing more than to be rid of this world that is passing away and to be with Jesus forevermore.

  8. Have had a little time to re-watch and wonder at that tent scene a couple of times…"Should I wait? No, I'll take you to him…I can't live up to this…Well that's true. Just give us (!!) your heart, and the rest will come in time…some day, but not here…" That is absolutely luminous. Thank you to writers and performers for perfection.

  9. I loved this episode. It was all about what we Catholics call, Divine Mercy. It was about how Our Lady, Our Blessed Mother, brings all who need help through her intercession, to her son. Having Our Blessed Mother, the Mother of the Church, have M. Magdela's back when M. Magdela was coming back to Jesus, was perfection!! This is why Catholics, since the year 150 A.D. have included Mother Mary in Christian Theology, because she was the first Apostle. She was revered by the Apostles and Disciples, especially after Jesus gave us all his mother, when he was on the cross. M. Magdela going to Jesus, is EVERYTHING Jesus wants us to do. When we give him our sins, which is what Mother Teresa says he THIRSTS for, he joyously burns them up in his sacred heart. And from that, grace is showered down upon not only the sinner, but upon all humanity. I just finished a Bible Study on Divine Mercy of Jesus with my prayer cenecle, and I must say, when Our Lady does what she was commissioned to do, by the Holy Spirit, her spouse, and lead the way to her SON, and having M. Magdela's back in her approach of Jesus to beg forgiveness, I cried. It is what Our Lady does for all sinners and all her children who are scared, like M. Magdela, to go to Jesus…..What M. Magdela did in approaching Jesus for forgiveness of her sins, was CONSOLE HIM. Because Jesus and his Father, have so much mercy to give to us, and they are consoled when we give them to him. Consoling Jesus' Heart by giving him our sins so he can rain down grace upon us all is what it is all about. Great Episode!!!!

  10. Love everything about the show and your guest. After so much pain of losing so many of my loved ones my faith had become a half of a seed. Today because of your show my faith has grown and I now see all the wonderful miracles that the Lord has given me. One miracle is that I found your show. May God continue to bless you all.

  11. I can completely relate to Mary Magdalene's character and the amazing writer (Ryan)'s story as well. I'm so grateful that God loves us and that we can choose to change because of Jesus <3

  12. The absolute best Christian production ever made. The. Absolute. Best. This is straight history in the making. The only depiction of Jesus I would ever allow my kids to watch. Takes Christian media to an abnormally high level.

  13. I loved this episode especially as a Catholic. What a beautiful way to explain how we feel about the Blessed Mother. She takes us to Jesus, she stands with us when we come before Jesus, she advocates for us to her Son, she prays for us. She is our biggest supporter and only brings us closer to Him.

  14. This is my favorite all time film EVER!!! Above Lord of the rings, Titanic, and Star Wars truly!!! Every secular film is now as dung. Christ Jesus (Yeshua) is EVERYTHING to me. Hope you feel the same. I want to contribute, but did a little a few months ago, but my situation prevented more. I am in prayer over it now. May God continue to bless you all!!! Thank you!!!

  15. Dear Dallas, just listening to you statements
in order to keep letting people stumble into the show and the revelation of Jesus, is why i want to suggest you let the show to continue being viewed on other general platforms like you tube
aside The Chosen App or site.

  16. God loves all of us, we are ALL, His creation. Jesus didn't want to be without us, so He came into this evil world to save us sinners. Can't wait to go home to be with Him. Thank you, Jesus. You've always been right next to me.
