The Chosen | – I'm firing back about one criticism

We get criticism every day about something, and it’s okay…we know we won’t agree with you on everything. And there are some scenes we depict we’re not certain about; outside of Scripture moments, we do our best to show only that which is “plausible,” not certain.

However, some of the criticism about a key moment from Episode 5 has Dallas upset, and this is something he won’t budge on.

  1. AMEN Dallas!! P R E A C H !!!
That also makes me ANGRY!! When people imply that you aren’t really saved because if you were you wouldn’t sin. Or that you don’t have enough faith. Quite frankly, I’d rather be around non believers than many believers. I have to really work hard to extend grace to them at times.

As a fellow (native) Texan let me WELCOME YOU TO TEXAS!! God bless you as you’re getting settled in.

  2. It is good to be able to converse. " let us walk a little and talk a little. And somewhere in that we will understand each other better. " – Jesse Owens

Yes I was the ardent comment. I am humbled and I must pray. And although now I am assurd of my dim sightedness, I am very much glad and excited that Ruah Ha-Kodesh lives. Who gives knowledge and understanding.

Thank Yahweh who gives light to the darkness before creating the greater and lesser . Before seperating the day from the night, he spoke let there be light.
I see there is a clear reason that Dallas is in this position and has this charge. I am humbled to hear this perspective. As it is truth and not false or lies.
I am convicted of my ignorance. Having already known this yet, presumption is the cause of my feld. And worse yet, the countless others that where influenced by my writings. And may not see this one.

The indignation is just ( as correction is always good when it is found in those conditions). Seen As well as felt.

Yes, we having been redeemed yet our righteousness is still like filthy rags.

Praise YHWH. I thank him again for revelation in clear and recognizable ways. In Yahushua Ha-Massiach.

    Let There Be Light.
    Iyob/Job 38:1-3

    – I thank Yah for your message Dallas.

  3. Thank you Dallas,
I didnt follow every clip you made, besides the films, but this one just hit me right in to my heart and brought me to tears, how honest and clear you spoke… and about your personal situations. It helped me and took preasure of me.
I am now 4 years with Jesus, got baptized 2017-06-17 after living "in the world" for 50! years…
before my life wasnt easy at all, not even how I was "produced" / not even before I was born …
but with Jesus in my life, the final breakdown come with sister in Christ and triggert all my trauma from childhood and past life, so I could no longer hold carry all this weight … Jesus is within and want to renew me, I know, need to find good counceling, rare to find or attacked by the enemies…
I condemed myself a lot, that I am now with Christ and not "perfekt" at all. Cant not function in the world any more. Need so much time to recover … I was such a tough "doer" in my life, now, I need to learn, to let me help from Jesus and need good company and help.
Please pray for me for healthy honest company and help in christ and restoration. Its a jungle out there, even in christianity. I thought it would be easier and clear, following him, but experienced a lot pain and controversity since 4 years and I am the only one who is saved in my family and arround… thank you.

Blessings to all, in Jesus Christ, YeshuaHaMashiachs name.

Sorry for miss-spelling, english is foreign language to me.

  4. Watching Mary my flesh kept rising up so it became my spirit and my flesh in a battle until the Holy Spirit showed me that I was just like Mary when I'm blind sided by the enemy, there's a scripture I think it talks about not thing so highly of your self least you fall , maybe some one may know it, , but to me Mary might have to walk this out, the enemy found his way in ! That was a warning for me

  5. They dont understand that mental and emotional health issues needs to be processed. Yes she was delivered by Jesus but there are inner issues that needs to be processed. Mary has PTSD and she was triggered. We are not perfect and we all struggle. God bless u Dallas ,we cant wait for Episode 6.

  6. I am just wondering how the people who made these criticisms view their own sin and 'backsliding'. Either they believe that they are never making mistakes and are therefore falling for the Devil's plots or they are not redeemed and so allow themselves to sin and not feel guilt or remorse.

  7. Her truama in the first episode and demonic battle is what captured me into the show becuz i can relate and am living it' the last episode was triggering as i was dealing the spiritual warfare bad during it' had to watch it twice' that demon sound though' chills down my spine like my nightmares of them' they sound frightening' havent watched this video but not sure why you would get criticized' im relating to this and it makes the scriptures more alive and powerful since i have and am experiencing things on this level' ptsd and trauma is ptsd and trauma no matter what happens to a person' it affects them'i cried so hard at the end of episode one season one' i wanted to be mary and oh how many times ive longed for a jesus moment like that

  8. Blessings to you Dallas for speaking up to this insult; narrow-mindedness. As though those with the question, that belittles the greatness and grace of our Savior, implies they have not sinned since being saved.. or.. these people have not been saved and just are trying to rile up the believers. Innocent question; possible. I am glad you spoke up.

  9. The only problem I've had with this show so far is when they were at the party when Jesus turned the water into wine. During the party they are dancing and someone says to Jesus can you make so and so a better dancer. Jesus replies and says, unfortunately there are some things that not even I can do. I know that it was supposed to show the humor of jesus. However, anyone that reads the Bible and knows the Jesus of the Gospel, knows that he would never say something like that. Why? Because Jesus would not put any doubt whatsoever in anyone's heart, (especially his disciples) that there was something, even if it was something as minuscule as not being able to make someone a better dancer, that he could not do.
Consider this, Jesus allowed Lazarus to lay in the grave and rot for 4 days for one reason only. Most people that read the scripture of Mary Martha and Lazarus as Jesus performing a miracle as raising someone from the dead to show his true power. Him showing his true power in that moment to Mary and Martha by raising Lazarus from the dead had absolutely nothing to do with it. If you remember when Jesus and the disciples were in Capernaum, they were starting to have their faith dampened and started to become sorrowful. Jesus knew this and therefore he took them with him to Mary and Martha's house just so that they could see him raise someone from the dead to boost and increase their faithfulness and their faith in Jesus Christ in knowing that he truly is God himself.

  10. Amen. Thank you for this. I believe in Jesus, I am tempted and I give into temptation. In fact I struggle more now that I believe in Jesus than before. The devil works hard to defeat us.

  11. Dallas…….The Stations of the Cross….a devotion that has 14 meditations …..1. Jesus is condemned to death. 2. Jesus accepts the cross. 3. Jesus falls the first time 4. Jesus meets His Blessed Mother. 5, Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross 6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus 7. Jesus falls the second time 8 Jesus speaks to the women of Jerusalem 9. Jesus falls the third time 10. Jesus is stripped of His garments 11. Jesus is nailed to the Cross 12. Jesus dies on the cross 13. Jesus's body is taken down from the cross and placed in the arms of His Mother. 14. Jesus is placed in the tomb,…..3 out of 14 are Jesus falling…..the lesson for us is that when we fall (and fall we will) get back up (repent) repeatedly and keep on going…..Baptism is received once…….but it's not 'one and done'…… repentance, Reconciliation , Confession are ongoing….your portrayal of Mary Magdalene is an important reminder. God Bless

  12. Brother I love you! Amen amen! Romans 7. One of THE most under looked and unveiled topics in the New Testament. Paul struggled with sin as a thorn in his flesh till the day he died, like we all do. And the Lord keeps it there to keep us humble in the sight of man. So blessed to know you are in alignment with the true gospel. Thank you!

  13. That is a battle that we will all be dealing with the rest of our lives and most likely even daily! Whether it be through sin or temptations. We have to remind ourselves that God is there for us we just have to remember that we are not the ones in charge! We go through things, good or bad because we are meant to learn something from it! Once we learn what we are meant to learn, we will not have to go to that same exact thing again because we have already learned what to avoid and how to fix it!

  14. Every word of this. Trauma is real. Hurt is real. Pain is real. Healing comes through continued revelation of and the power of Yeshua Hamashiach. Through His continued presence in our lives and the constant reminder that He is the only way through which we find peace, hope, and redemption. Big love to The Chosen team for their portrayal of trauma and triggering and the ways our past hurts manifest. So look forward to seeing Mary continue her journey in supernatural healing and restoration.

  15. Beginning in Roman Catholicism, Christianity has been tainted with a false understanding of justification, sanctification and grace, and it is very prevalent today in other denominations too, such as Methodism. They redefine grace to be a force which infuses you with the true behavioral righteousness of God, resulting in ideas like entire sanctification in this life, and this is so obviously incorrect. Those who teach that your justification depends on your sanctification misunderstand what Jesus did on the cross, and it is what is creating this controversy today. Jesus bore all of your sins, paying the fine which your life works merited, and you are permanently justified in God's sight by grace (which is "grace" because it is a free gift given out of graciousness) through faith in His son alone. I fear for the salvation of anyone who claims to be totally sanctified in this life.

  16. Which is so true. Even I was a little disturbed when I saw the scene that Mary magdalene went back to the inn, but then just thought, it was possible that stuff like this could happen. We human are far from Perfect! We keep going back to sin, It's just how we are. So Of course stuff like this is possible, and then this is just a show. I don't think we need to criticise every detail about it. The best thing is that this show has been challenging us intellectually, making us thing about what could be possible and what could not, but most importantly getting us closer to Jesus. It's not easy to depict and show what events must have occurred 2000 years ago and yet these guys have done an amazing job by doing their research, consulting scholars. Cut them some slack!

  17. Be careful, brother Dallas, that non-Biblical narrative as becomes a part of the The Chosen isn't regarded as gospel. Numerous scenes in the Chosen are "fictional" in the sense that they have scant basis in the inspired Word. I truly give your team credit, however, for its artistic license, and its entertainment/infotainment level of depiction, but the transformational value we have in Christ is asserted in John's testimony of: "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." That certainly applied to Mary Magdalene. We all struggle, granted, but it's a victory march taken in small steps, not necessarily "back-sliding".

  18. I like Dallas a lil peaved. I don't mean I like that he IS. Just that he's not so so about his passion about this project. It cant be "perfect" unless it's just a word for word portrayal. To tell a story based on a true story takes imagination and honesty together. The portrayal of Simon the zealot is amazing IMO.

  19. Praying God blesses you for your honesty & the boldness to answer criticisms when the Spirit is humming inside you needing to speak the truth!! So good man! 🙂 Kia kaha, take care, the Lord bless you and keep you & your family!

  20. The fruit inspectors are always acting like they should have made all the characters just sinless, obedient human beings when in fact the struggle in the flesh is what we all deal with and are all a work in progress. I seriously am so grateful The Chosen has relatable characters with flaws like me…
