Something he said really struck me. He said that it wasn’t the culture in that time to touch a woman in public, but when it’s the son of God exercising demons then that calls for breaking some rules. The thing is, God was not breaking his own rules, he was breaking man made rules. Who are you to say that the son of God, son of Man, God himself, Jesus, the I AM wrapped in a robe of flesh; who are you to say that he cannot touch his own creation? Who are you to say that is inappropriate. “Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?”
Romans 9:20 KJV
Watching this (again) makes me appreciate you and your crew even more for what you do to make the show so moving and real.
I will never look at Isaiah 43 the same again. Brilliant setup at the beginning and middle of the episode with the verse, then those same words cut me to the core at the end.
The sean when John the Baptist leaves and the look on Jesus face. That was impactful.
I love this! The scene became even more alive. Thank you so much! Love your tender heart, too. God bless you, Dallas and your crews.
I watch this scene almost every night before I go to bed. I was once a "Mary" and now I've traveled with Him for almost 50 years. This scene makes me cry every time! Thank you Dallas (and Jonathan and Liz) for your beautiful work! What a great, great blessing you are to the Body of Christ!
Dallas I have also noticed, especially in this scene, but in all others, you have masterfully added the cross everywhere. On walls as a light stand, in the crevices of brick walls, as window frames, and door frames…every scene…almost like an Alfred Hitchcock appearance…every scene.
I look for them in every episode now..and am never disappointed. Oh so subtle..Oh so effective..Oh so powerful.
I really liked this part of the series, A job well done by all.
I’ve a relative newcomer to The Chosen. Got “hooked” a few months with the Easter Week binge watch you hosted, Dallas. I have since seen Seasons 1 and 2 many, MANY times… loving every single episode! Every. Single. Episode. Just now catching up on all of the extra material you produce. Like this Director Vlog. I really appreciate this deep dive into such an impactful scene. And hearing about the nuances you built into it with such intentionality, to enhance the emotional impact. In the hope that by doing so, more people will be drawn closer to Jesus. Mission Accomplished, Dallas! Thank you for taking such a prayerful, worshipful, Christ-honoring, destiny-delivering approach to The Chosen. I am praising the Lord for how He is using you to reach countless people for Him through this compelling Master-Full series. Well done, good and faithful servant!
Thank you thank you again, I feel the presence of Jesus , thank you for you Jesus here and for he taking back Mary who is His what a Blessing
Fabulous livestream! I LOVED the documentary about The Chosen team’s reactions to Season 2! Such a blessing to know how actors are being impacted so deeply, too… emotionally and spiritually. Truly the Lord is moving mightily in and through all aspects of The Chosen to draw people to Himself. It is such a blessing and privilege to contribute my own “loaves and fish” to this sacred move of His Spirit in our day. May He bless each of you with a double portion of all that is most precious to Him as you continue to follow wherever He is leading.
Such talent you ALL have! This scene makes me cry and moves me deeply…every time…and, I've watched it lots…Amazingly beautiful capturing of what/how it feels to come to Jesus healing through complete brokenness. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
We never get tired of watching…
Dallas, you must feel God guiding you !
From the heart of Texas ♥️
i love this
I am a movie crier. Have rewatched the end of episode 1 more than a dozen times. This scene makes me sob with hope. Although Dallas talks almost as quickly as an auctioneer, this was very enjoyable..
BEAUTIFUL Scene!! Excellent actors!! Tears every time I watch it! Very Powerful!
" Repent is the START ……. "
Repent simply means ; rethought , rethink ,
with great anguishing in despair ,
change in the heart of mind
… until you " Repent " you will not turn any direction ,
you will only continue in and on your current way .
If not …, then PERISH …
Perish simply means ; to be rendered not usable for the intended purpose …
Yahusha said to him,
“I am the Way,
and the Truth, and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Can you please tell me who, what is the music? Please! Thank you!!
Just such a beautiful scene. I tear up every time I see it. I binged the two seasons in three days. Can't wait for S3! God Bless all you making this series.
Watched both seasons twice and now with my sister. I have told many friends and family about the magnificent show. Unfortunately I downloaded the update. Now I can't get rid of the subtitles. I only have a cell phone to watch it on but I LOVE this show! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Dallas, the breakdowns of those scenes. Loved it. Especially where you were explaining 'why' you wanted the scene when Jesus held Mary's head n she gasped you wanted a low tone of instrument
This scene helped save me from taking my own life. Thank you.
That was truly an anointed moment and the Holy Spirit was very present on myself during that scene. Well done guys. Loving this series.
I sobbed, again…
The Explosion is Important. Best scene in Episode One.
After he mentioned the lighting I was watching closely and good, smoke is coming out of those fires. In these kinds of shows a lot of the time they use smokeless candles and the like, but not here.
The reason this scene hit so hard for me is because I almost felt like my Lord was talking to me personally I almost cried my eyes out in the middle of my biology class watching this because this scene was so powerful and it spoke to me
This scene is so much the summary of Jesus ' action on a lost soul … never thought a movie could move me so much. These 2 actors incarnate so well
Just finished watching season one. What a blessing! I cannot wait to watch season two
Overpowering! Beautiful!
Please breakdown the scene with Jesus and Nicodemus on the rooftop
Wish the prints were available unframed. More affordable. Thanks.
This is a cinematic masterpiece because you were all led by the Holy Spirit!
As a daughter of God who was a survivor of trauma, addict to self harm and high depression in my life, this THIS SCENE was EVERYTHING to me. I CRIED MY EYES OUT!
I’ve loved the show, I’ve got a small channel, and I’ve used and added you Dallas to spread the word of the show, “ people must know”.
Anyone with a heart in their chest – at the very least – will get misty-eyed watching the last minutes of this scene. It's hard to describe in words how brilliant Jonathan & Liz were in acting out their roles. I've watched this scene at least two dozen times, and each time I could swear someone was cutting onions in the room. Still takes my breath away.
I love hearing these details for I am a detail person. I think the round table discussions incredibly helpful for both Believers and the lost. I tell people about The Chosen often and just lent my DVDs to my dental hygienist who has no home internet service. I can’t wait for Season 3 and am giving an extra donation after hearing your recent post about longer episodes. I am praying the COVID-19 requirements that increased your financial expenses will be lifted soon. We pray for the team. Thank you for this wonderful depiction of Christ’s impact on those around Him.
This is my favorit scene, of all season that has been relised.
So essentially you always knew the end from the beginning???…I definitely love how you took a page from God's book and applied that principle in creating this show
I love Jesus so much
Amen
It is so wonderful, what Jesus Christus done to US!
When Jesus puts his hand over her hand and says "That's not for you", my heart about exploded with love.
I want that ישוע hugs me the same way the hugs María Magdalena, me puedo morir ahí en paz
Watching this scene helped me understand and articulate what exactly Mary was dealing with. The scene brought out the humanness behind the suffering. I loved how Jesus looked at her with love and compassion and actually felt bad for Mary's lengthy torture which wasn't brought upon herself.
I know I'm two years late , but now I'm a fan of this show. Thank you for creating a show that not only speaks the unadulterated truth of the gospel , but also brings alot of human traits to who Jesus was and is and to the disciples as well. I'll start season 2 tonight.
