About The Author

The Chosen WHY A TV SERIES ABOUT JESUS? We've been making movies for some of the biggest studios in Hollywood for 20 years. But a subject this important shouldn't be entrusted to Hollywood. It needs to be made by us. Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, I am doing a new thing..." The Chosen is a new thing. * How it was financed is new: We're the #1 highest crowd-funded media project of all time -- over $10 million from over 19,000 people. * The content is new: We're the first-ever multi-season show about the life of Christ. * The way to watch it is new: We're the first show to have our own app that connects directly to your streaming devices. No subscription needed. Just search "The Chosen" where you get apps and download to your phone. * How it's reaching the world is new: The show is free, but by "paying it forward," you help ensure people around the world can see it -- we're currently in every country. Welcome to a new thing!

  1. All the music fits it perfectly. Especially the dramatic scenes or the scary scenes of the demons. During Nicodemus and his struggle with decision it's amazing how much influence the music has I watched a movie one time without the music it was the most boring film I've ever seen. And when I heard it with the music it was a whole different ball game

  2. Anyone who loves this music I highly recommend getting the CD of Season Ones music…it's so good!! The Cello is my favorite so it's great to see the face behind the beautiful music. Thank you everybody!

  3. Fun Fact: I don't like music, with the exception of hymns. Not in a snobby kind of way, I just don't care for music. I find the overwhelming majority used in film to be annoying and distracting. BUT, when it comes to The Chosen, I have thoroughly loved the music. The music is like the writing to me – it's become a character within itself in the program. "Trouble" is not just great music, it's addictive and gets stuck in your head and you hum it all the time. The kicker? That's not a bad thing! It's enjoyable!

  4. How did the actors get found? By regular casting agents? There’s so many in LA/Hollywood so how did they all find out about the show? From Mandy, Star Talent? Or major companies? Or churches? Or Christian organizations? YouTube, other movies, from start to finish. Thank you

  5. Will The Chosen get into whether Jesus ever turned away people who needed his help? Did any lepers ever go to Jesus, saying, “Jesus, I know you can heal me if you are willing!” only for Jesus to say, “I am not willing. Go your way.”

  6. Great spot, though I would have loved an even longer, more in-depth interview and more detailed information on the process of making and including the music (like what does their typical temp music sound like? I can understand why Dallas wouldn't want something in his head that wasn't part of his intentional vision (audiation?) but it might be neat to demonstrate what a difference it makes having music that was designed to fit this show versus just any ol' tunes.

  7. Also, since you asked what we want to see next, I want to fine tune an earlier request. I had asked to see the people at work on the sets for Season 2, but Dallas said that they haven't been able to break ground yet. Unfortunate, but we know that God has things well in hand. But meanwhile, could we maybe talk to the set designers and get some close-ups of the model that they had on display when Episode 6 dropped? I'd love to hear about the research that went into various architectural touches, or what specifically had been requested for this or that area, or how they determined where to place which features of the set. Background of what other sets they have designed before would also be fascinating to me.

  8. The brilliant music of The Chosen really takes the series next level, and even more so in Season 2. Episode 4 is off the chain in it's entirety. And the end of Episode 8 montage is so legit. Soul piercing. Really looking forward to the Season 2 soundtrack release!

  9. Dallas Jenkins is straddling the line of what Jesus told us. Jenkins says he is being inclusive but catholicism and the pope have nothing to do with Christianity. Jenkins is doing the same thing that Billy Graham did and saying that the road to the Father has more paths than just through Jesus. He pandered to the pope. That is not Christianity and Jenkins is playing both sides of the coin. The season 3 intro he mentions the pope with giddiness 2 minutes in. I turned it off and won't watch anymore. I defended Jenkins when I would read the comments about this and now its obvious. Whats next for Jenkins? A Book of Mormon or Scientology referrence? Plus….the guy is a merchandise peddler. This whole series is Jenkins resurrecting his career and selling merch. I think Jenkins is a snakeoil salesman.

Sorry if all that sounds harsh but I dont think Jenkins is authentic
