  1. Hi Tim and Cathy, thank you so much , I have been through a lot and I believe that my love for the Lord has augmented thanks to the afflictions. Our God is oh so magnificent! I love listening to you ! May God bless you ! Greetings from France!

  2. Kathy and Tim~ The verse inscribed on your rings is appropriate because marriage IS a mixture of blessings, sufferings and learning to lean on God as you grow. Praising God together through the years is a great life discipline.
    No apology necessary ♡♡♡

  3. I am loving these meditations – thank you! I sit at my kitchen table and eat breakfast while watching before starting schoolwork with my young children who are out of school due to Coronavirus. It’s just the right length for me to do that.

  4. I realize as I’m listening to this that the only safety I have in this life is my surrender absolute surrender to God- come what may. Then I know He will be with me and only good can come of it in the end. We can’t put a price on our way.

  5. I started watching Gospel in Life videos this week and have been greatly encouraged by the wisdom and insights you both share. My desire, since this whole quarantine period started in my country, is to have a deeper love and understanding of God and His Word. The unhurried time allowed me to just do that and these videos have been helpful. I so admire you Tim and Kath. God bless!

  6. Amen! Thank you so much for this series. Such a blessing!
Psalms 46:10. “Be still, and know I am God.” If that statement isn’t the spiritual motto of this pandemic…I’m not sure if our society knows how to be still. As someone who doesn’t have social media or enjoys ‘partying’ on weekends, I’m asking myself whether I even know how to be still. Maybe the term being still has become synonymous with being bored and no one likes ‘being bored’. We tolerate boredom. We grit our teeth and bare it until we finally get through it. We fight it, filling our time as best we can with mindless activities or perhaps even making unwise decisions in our state of boredom. Personally, I find myself struggling with thoughts of depression and anxiety. And instead of dealing with those troubling thoughts, it was easier to smoke or drink those problems away. But that’s the thing, they didn’t go away. I would wake up with feelings of guilt and shame, because those negative thoughts cornered me into making decisions that suppress and perpetuate the cycle. So if being still isn’t boredom, then what is it? I believe being still is less about getting past, but rather being in and getting through. Being in a place of contemplation and meditation that allows us to get through while appreciating that things are out of your control. How can we appreciate that? Because if we're not in control, that means we're able to recognize God is the one in control. And because He’s in control, we can trust that we are safe and we are covered. Having every day to be able to renew our mind in this truth is such a blessing. But this is only possible if we allow ourselves to be still…and know that He is God.

  7. Dr TK, been listening to you since the 90s. You note here that Joseph was a 'spoiled brat.' Please found that in scripture for us. Yes, he spoke his dream out loud to his brothers. Truth and revelation, yes….but also bratty? He accepted and wore the gifts his father gave him…a dysfunctional family yes…but Joseph then => bratty? Joseph was clearly insightful, accepted his role in the universe and was a gifted administrator. Do the lenses of Americans in this epoch see that as 'spoiled brat'? Pls kindly found your decription of Joseph, as correct.

  8. This is fantastic. Tim always has a way of explaining things that just make sense to me. He speaks with such clarity, making seemingly difficult parts of the Bible easy to understand. This helps me apply them in my own life. Thank you Tim!

  9. Love your teachings Mr. Keller! You answer every single question that arises in my pea brain… I literally push you on my friends… believers and unbelievers. I tell them you explain God's word AND humankind so detailed, it is just crazy! I tell them listening to Tim Keller is like free therapy! I could be listening to your podcast and you mention something, and in my head I ask "why" and you almost always say "let me tell you why".. LOVE IT! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THINGS CLEAR FOR THIS BABY CHRISTIAN…. Still stuck on the dinosaur age though….

  10. Deuteronomy 8 has similar truths : God said He makes us suffer and hunger so that we hunger for Him and realize truth – that all good comes from Him – we do not get the credit! I enjoyed writing notes of these and 2Tim3 to note God’s jobs and mine and the conditional statements

  11. Thank you for this message Dr. Keller. I've enjoyed your teachings for 25 years as a regular attendee of the Redeemer church–which you founded. I'm so blessed that I can still listen to your knowledge and insights of scripture through Gospel in Life. Psalm 91 is one I recite by heart everyday in prayer and has become a personal favorite of mine–thanks to my beloved Mother who introduced it to me as her personal favorite. I learned the King James Version of this Psalm and prefer the poetry of this edition of the Bible to that of the New International Version–which, by my perspective, does not capture the beauty of this song with the same impact. Nonetheless, your interpretation of this Psalm's essence is greatly reassuring both in and through these difficult times!

  12. This channel is a blessing! You are a faithful minister who sows the seed of the Word of God; ever serving ; ever receiving from God and ever giving of His Word.
Romans chapter 10: verse 17 "Then faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God."
2 Samuel Chapter 22: Verse 50 "Therefore I will praise you, O Lord, out of the countries, and I will praise your name."

We need to take hold of the Lord's promises! To be a courageous Saint who stands up for Jesus Christ against all odds!
God's life insurance : "Jesus Christ Is Lord & only He Saves". "AMEN "

There is no greater praise than the blessed truth of God's word to the glory of God.

God the Son has given us the gospel to share with the world.

Mark 16: Verse 15: And He said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

How can anyone hear the "good" news? Romans chapter 10: verse 17 Then faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God.

    Romans 10:
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Isaiah chapter 7: verse 14: "Therefore the LORD shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel." Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, "God with us" in human flesh but without sin. The Savior of the world was born to die for our sins! He did so 33 years later. His terrible ordeal, the body was mutilated, the blood was poured out, but the bones were not broken, buried and risen on the 3rd day.

John Chapter 3: Verse 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans chapter 3: verse 23

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans chapter 6: verse 23

"I am the way, the truth and the life: no one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14.6)

    "1 Corinthians 15:
    1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

"7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;." Ephesians 1: 7

"Because it is my blood that comes from the New Testament, which has been shed for many for the forgiveness of sins." Matthew chapter 26: verse 28

Ephesians 2: 8: "Because you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you. This is the gift of God.

    Romans 10:
9 If you confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart man believes in righteousness; And a confession by mouth is given to salvation.
13 For the one who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John chapter 3: verse 16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death". Rev.21: 8.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. ”Romans 5: 1

  13. I think your wedding ring inscription is actually perfect because you believed it to be singular in context – however you/we discover when the text is further considered there is much more on the idea of suffering . What marriage does not endure suffering? So as God willed, I believe your inscription was perfectly selected.

  14. Amazing Testimony of God completely Curing
    Pancreatic Cancer!!!
My name is Dae Gyung Kim. I am the head pastor
of Sarang Jeil Church in Ban Weul Dong,
    Hwaseong city, Gyeongi province.
Our church is part of The General Assembly
    of Presbyterian Church in Korea.
I was diagnosed with the deadly pancreatic cancer.
One morning I collapsed suddenly and was rushed
to the S Hospital in Seoul.
Doctors told me I should begin to make
    my funeral arrangements.
The cancer cells had already spread
    throughout my lymph nodes,
    stomach and intestines,
and brain so there was no chance for me to survive.
    I received a death sentence.
    But God healed me miraculously.
Through earnest request I once again received
a CT scan, an MRI, a spinal examination,
a radiation examination, a blood test, etc.
    These detailed tests revealed
    that all the cancer cells
had completely disappeared from my body.
Doctors said that this was impossible
and that it was a miracle.
I did not even go through
    with the 36 chemotherapy treatments
that doctors ordered me to have.
But a medically impossible healing did happen to me.
Only by God’s grace did I receive healing from cancer.
I was given the gift to heal diseases through intercessory prayer.
I want to upload my testimony to YouTube
to be a witness to the living God’s power
I recorded a short, two minute testimony in both Korean
and English so that this truth could be proclaimed
    over the whole world.
    I’m so filled with thanks
that I am using the comment section
to let everyone know what I have experienced.
Surely God the creator is alive
and is in control of all things.
    Please watch this video
and share it with people close to you
and let them know that there is a way to live.
For those who desire their illness to be healed,
If you leave your prayer requests
in the YouTube comment section of
<Reverend Dae Kyung Kim healing prayer>.
We will pray on your behalf every Sunday at 4PM.
    For English speakers,
you may upload your prayer requests in English as well.
I hope you live a long and healthy life
and afterwards, we are able to meet in heaven.

I will pray in order within 30 minutes.
Please write your name along with the prayer topic.
I call each and every one to pray.
    Please watch the healing testimony
and YouTube video posted at the beginning
of the comment and pray with faith.
The healing prayer time starts at 4pm every week.
It proceeds once a week at the same time in order.
I will continue to pray for those who requested prayer even during the morning prayer time every day.
Please pray with Amen as you listen to the healing prayer video every day.
If you pray for not only yourself, but for other patients, you will be healed.
My wife, Kim Myung-sook, was also cured of diabetes while praying with tears for curing the diseases of the saints.
I believe that God will hear you
if you repent of all sins and pray
    with a pure heart.
Please recover your health and devote your life to the church
you attend and live a blessed life.
    Healing is done by God…
