Afterthought | WorshipMob Original by Nali Wells

“This song came from a mixture of scripture and experience. I was staring at a print my roommate made, titled, “Afterthought” (shout out Sarah Dill, @lil_dillllll), and memories of how God has met me and continues to meet me brought me to a place of overwhelming thankfulness. This song is a reminder of my ever changing nature juxtaposed with the Lord’s constant faithfulness. When I couldn’t find within me the strength to turn to Jesus, Jesus met me. When I looked at myself in shame, Jesus responded by rejoicing over me with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). It blew my mind enough to write a song about it. I hope this song reignites your awe in Jesus.” – Nali Wells

You were such an afterthought to me
Yet You chose to give me everything
In the dirt I’m looking so messy
Yet you listen to the songs I sing

I wonder
am I worth such indescribable love
I wonder
how could I earn so gentle of a touch from You

Why do you love me?
How could you love me so well?

You were such an afterthought to me
Yet You blanket me in glory
In the dirt I’m feeling so messy
Your response is singing over me

  1. Hello, well I wanted to tell you that JESUS LOVES YOU, and wants to transform your life, understand and never forget, you are very special to GOD, so seek the Lord, read and know the Bible, because behind it, you will know JESUS and you will understand that the love of CHRIST JESUS is EVERYTHING, I say EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN THIS WHOLE WORLD, and JESUS ONLY can change your life, your history.

  2. Love this one. There is just a peace and level of intimacy about this song. Though i feel so unworthy of his love, his arms are always wide open to receive me. Though it makes no sense why he would love me, i always keep running back to him!!! His love is like no other!!! Thanks for sharing Miss Wells. Keep singing for Jesus!!

  3. Hallelujah ! Thank you for this inspiring song and video. This is so delicate.
That jazzy undertone and when your clear voice came in it pierced right into my heart. I almost was in tears but tried to follow the lyrics that match my situation perfectly. Then I felt the Lord asking me: "Why don´t you start worshiping me again ?"
I am struggling with (mental) health for decades now and lately feel so tired. Today I found Mark 14,38 : The spirit truly is ready but the flesh is weak.
May I ask you to pray for me that God strengthens and guides me ? Thank you so much and God bless you abundantly.

  4. Ahhhhhhh… so mellow. So smooth… Absolutely beautiful. Understated. Keys just so slightly chasing the metre in the in between phrases… just delightful, truly delicious… Top work, Nali, top work…❤️

  5. I love this style of music and Nali is a great artist for our God! Praise Jesus! I would love to see more jazz (varieties- smooth, easy listening, blues, contemporary, big band, etc) developed for praising Him!
