Robert Barron | – Merry Christmas from Bishop Barron and the Word on Fire Staff

Merry Christmas from all of us at Word on Fire!

On this blessed day, let us reflect on the Word becoming flesh—and more precisely, a child. This child calls out to the heart, revealing the presence of the transcendent God among us.

I want to wish everyone a very happy, very joyous Christmas. Please pray for us at Word on Fire, as we continue to pray for you.

  1. Merry Christmas Bishop Barron! You said it so eloquently, the heart … the emotional vessel to feel love… the baby sweet Jesus. Thank you so much… your words help us in our journey to become closer to God.

  2. You stimulate me, near to outsider of roman catholic churchmanship (scuse my neolinguistic inventions)…. Ratzinger (should never have use Italian as his language.. is great in german) and is too close to Vigano' (what is this vestment that he wears? I know it's complicated put Bergoglio is our popE ( I did not capitalize the first..

  3. Merry Christmas! I go to orthodox Christian in Japan, though yet not baptized.
You Catholics obey an absolute authority that have behaved as a Caesar Augustus who claims inheritance from saint Peter, that is an orthodox recognition you have, however I think that the Pope is just a first person who have never superintend the some early Ecumenical councils until Byzantine military power had lost the Italy. Which history is telling that your pope is a greatest lord who can order all flocks of Christians in the world to do everything involved with religious creeds or ethical issues?

  4. Thankyou for this, A Merry christmas to you and all the crew! Also, remember to celebrate the whole 12 days as a giant feast and celebration if your obligations alow it!

A lot of people do thier celebrating before the 25th and taper off after, when it should be the other way around! With advent being a time of introspection and the 12 days being the celebratory period!

  5. The irresistibility of a baby is the point of my Christmas lullaby, "How Soft He Sleeps," published by GIA Music. "How Soft He Sleeps in the arms of Mary. Soft he keeps without a start. How pure and holy is the baby. Come, Lord Jesus, to my heart!"
