  1. "How can a young student of theology avoid falling into “dead orthodoxy”?"

Get your theology from Jesus! For NO education could match or pass, that of Almighty God; who IS Jesus. Amen!

Not if they spent their entire lives in universities; and receiving a myriad of "cuma sum laudi's"; in every university in the whole world. For Jesus can give a person instantly; more than any earthly academic system; could ever begin to do. Proof?

    (Paraphrasing)

'circa 3,000 yrs ago; an angel from Heaven said to a YOUNG man, "YOU are going to be the next King of Israel!". The young man said, "NO, NO, NO! I can't do that". The angel said "Nevertheless, OH YES!". So the man said, "I can't lead this multitude; because I do not have the wisdom to do it. So it's NO!".

This pleased Jesus; and He had the angel say, "Since you did not ask for riches, I will make you the richest man there will ever be. AND…because you asked for "Wisdom", I will give you more wisdom than any other person will ever have.

And instantly: "King Solomon" became THE smartest man in the world; than any one had ever seen. They came from far away places to see this "Genius from Heaven". To this day NO one has been able to count the riches that King Solomon was given. I suppose in the "Trillions" maybe!

Sadly, like all mortals; satan caused him to commit fornication with a woman "Queen of Sheba". And Jesus punished him VERY hard. And much later, Solomon came to his senses and asked forgiveness; and Jesus lifted the "rock off his shoulders; and he went on to write 1,000 books; of which 3 are in the Old Testament: "Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon".

I sad all of this, to say…NO Christian needs "theological chicanery"; because Jesus can teach ANY thing, to any one, in no time; and FREE of charge, no less. Believe it or not…So get on your knees and ask Him for wisdom, understanding and truth; BEFORE you ever open your bible. And YOU just graduated; in the eyes of Jesus in Heaven. Believe it or not…

…In any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

  2. Thank you for this great video, for your words of wisdom and for your practical and faithful advice. Praise God for His equipping of the church throughout the years with faithful and wise men such as yourselves! I pray that at the end of my life, the way I've lived and worked out my faith will show me to be just another small part in this church Christ is building. God bless you my brothers and sisters at Ligonier.

  3. Very good advice all the way round. We should never neglect our gathering together, that is the church, and it is the power of our worship that powers our walk. Faith expressed, faith shared, faith bolstered, and we create, join, form, and express the church.
