This would stop most murders and abortions. But does not Jesus say to forgive 70×7 and pray for enemies? Moses wasn’t killed for killing the Egyptian who had beaten a Hebrew neither King David for having Uriah killed in order to take his wife and cover his adultery.

The writer of that article who proclaimed that American Christians protesting abortion would be taken seriously, only when they’ve mobilized in order to protest capital punishment, is lying.
If Christians made it there primary mission to abolish capital punishment, and succeeded in doing so, once they started protesting abortion again, that same writer, and likely every pro abortion person in the country, would flip out beyond measure. Guaranteed
For the same reason a murderer must forfeit his life, the same is for those who deface the image of God: sodomites, habitual criminals as well as parent abusers, pedophiles, rapists, abortionists, zoophiles, necrophiles, kidnappers, blasphemers of God and adulterers.
The reason capital punishment is a deterrence is because there are NO repeat offenders. You can't do it again if you are already dead because of your crimes against God and humanity.
