I find the best way to defeat a atheist is to stand firm on the word and go for a direct assault on their logic. The bible can stand up to modern science in fact it still has a few things to teach modern science. A atheist will proclaim science has proven there is no God but that claim is false because at it's heart science is about finding the truth sense we know the bible is the truth they will work together hand in glove if you only allow scientific fact to enter the debate theories and assumptions need to be called out immediately force the debate to be based on cold hard facts and the atheist won't stand a chance. One of my favorites to bring up is DNA because most atheist have no answer to the question "Why is there a programing code for life if their is no programmer?" Don't fear debating a atheist because it is yet another chance for you to glorify God trust in the word it can handle anything the atheist can dream up.

The reason I copied-pasted the above scripture from Romans 2 (ESV) is because I wanted to underline something. Don't get me wrong. The entire sermon is excellently delivered. All the elements discussed were well treated.
But there is a reason why the world does not take religion seriously. They can discern hypocrisy and double standard more neatly than you preachers think.
Example: Slavery in the name of God: defended by most white churches in the US.
Killing in the name of God: First carried out by the Roman Catholic Church and now taken over by the Islamists. Remember that not too long ago, Protestants and Ca.
Catholics were fighting and killing each other in Northern Ireland.
Where is the love of God constantly preached when congregations of the Christian faith meet on Sundays? Why is there a divide between the white and black Churches in America? Why do white church establishments defend segregation and racism
(some) so violently,even though it is clearly against the will of God for this to be happening since God says all men are brothers?
In light of the above (and it's by no means an exhaustive list of why some people get so disillusioned with the idea of God) most people just conclude there is no God,without examining the evidence for themselves.
Remember Jesus said that if you love one another,people will see the light of God shining and will want to investigate further.

With regard to this topic, the movie, "Splice" will give you a great visual as to what could happen.
As the Holy Spirit slowly withdraws from America, you will see more and more of this. I honestly believe that there are times when God the Holy Spirit is working in power within a group or country. And when that time passes you will see a decrease in the Christian church and a decrease in the drawing power of God the Holy Spirit. We are in the last days of America and the last days of the age of grace. These are just more of the signs that we are there and this world will soon be destroyed.
We are now beginning to see the murder of the elderly in the US. It has been going on in Europe for many years. Several states have already passed laws to allow euthanasia. It's the end.
