  2. Here is the actual background of the Song of Solomon. King Solomon had so many wives and concubines, still he loved one particular woman above all of them. But that woman loved a shepard. However, king Solomon brought her to the palace to take her as his own wife but he did not forced her to become his wife. Solomon tried to entice with his riches and glory and fame so that her mind can be changed. During her stay in the palace the other women of the palace tried to convince her about Solomon. Those women are referred as daughters of Jerusalem. Due to their alluring words, the mind of that woman started to change as she slowly started to forget her original lover the shepard. But the shepard still loved the woman. At end, all those riches, glory of Solomon could not change their love.
This is an example of the bride of Christ who will be enticed by the world so that she can forget Christ. But a true bride will not be enticed and will always long to join the Shepard that is our Lord Jesus Christ.

  3. Regarding the visual of the woman…It's hard for the Western World (and sometimes for me as well) to see the standard of beauty as black, dark non-white….but that is clearly what this book portrays….can't deny it…well I guess you can!

  4. ““To me, my love, you are like My [favorite] mare among the chariots of Pharaoh.”
    ‭‭Song of Solomon‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬
The first chapter makes me think it is Solomon and Pharaoh’s daughter , his first wife who is the only one documented in the beginning of his reign as the one he built a house for. What do you think?

  5. I love how sexy it is yet it's completely pure because it's sex and desire according to God's plan. That and the multidimensional spiritual meanings regarding the mystery of Christ and his Bride.

  6. Oh people this life is temporary
And Afterlife is permanent in paradise All fun with no sadness whatsoever
Oh people obey Allah the Only God who Created you read Quran and Follow the last Messenger Muhammed peace be upon him So you succeed and be happy in life and Enter Paradise after death.

  7. The more I learn about the bible, the more I realise king solomon is someone used as a cautionary tale. For all his wisdom that god gifted him, he none the less rejects gods love and his gift of wisdom and in the end falls from grace. I think he is a perfect metaphor for a lot of things like hubris, arrogance and how those effect someone. Samson is pretty good for the same kind of metaphor. Although Samson despite his failures repented and was forgiven in the end.

  8. I remember trying to read this in grade school and being shocked that the HOLY BIBLE mentioned ladybits in a sexual context. If I was reading that without knowing that it was the Song of Solomon, then I would just think that it’s just a weird fan fiction of an obscure book franchise.

  9. Solomon's song is a parable. The woman represents his NATION. Its not a literal woman. Her large bosom represents her prosperity, her resources, her wealth. The daughters of Jerusalem represents the descendants of Israel. This book is widely misused by false doctrines everywhere because of their inability to use the bible to define itself.

If needed, I can apply scripture to prove each point.

  10. Praise lord brothers and sisters of Bible project team, Jesus followers. If you don't mind please arrange the project work in telugu language. It will be very useful for Jesus followers. God bless you all forever Amen…..

  11. I am truly dissapointed at the Bible Project commentary on the book of Song of Songs. You usually do proper research on the subject and frequently you add your own interpretation which somehow fits with most "other" interpretations .. this one is totally out of line .. completely irrational .. and not supported by the biblical script itself. There is no way that "sexual" has to do with anything in this book. Total misread and peculiar understanding. Here is my very humble advise to you as a scolar who is interested in the biblical truth .. when you fail to find bearing go to the Orthdox Christian Church (specially Coptic) and read original Saints interpretations and commentaries ..
As you rightly mentioned, if you use the metaphoric symbols used to paint a woman you turn with avery ugly one, so what is sexual about that !!!! This is God and Humanity relationship, specifucally God and Solomon relationship as experienced by a Wise King who went astray losing meaning and purpose while trying to satisfy his thirst and desires through indulgance in earthly pleasures. Hear the late Ravi Zacharias commentaries about Solomon in order to understand what went wrong with Solomon.
