Beautiful. Thank you for sharing. The Soviet Union occupied Romania from 1944 to 1958. Ceausescu's communism was from 1965 until 1989, and he was the only person publicly revered. Ceausescu was atheist but sided with the religious and often corrupt Orthodox Church that would obey him to establish a national identity. Spirit-filled churches were seen as a real threat and many (outspoken) Christians were persecuted. But in 1989 the people took to the streets, risking their lives, shouting: ''EXISTA DUMNEZEU! EXISTA DUMNEZEU!'' Meaning, ''God exists! God exists!'' Rick confirms God's hand in the revolution. Wow.
Please keep Romania in prayer as it still deals with the ramifications of post-communism such as the re-election of socialist and corrupt politicians and therefore poverty. Not all birds know how to fly again even when the cage is open…Romania still needs God. But nothing is impossible for Him. God bless
