  1. The last verses of this song push me to tears of joy…"Why should I gain from his reward? I cannot give an answer but this I know with all my heart… his wounds have paid my ransom." What beautiful hope our Lord Jesus Christ gives us!

  2. Lyrics:

How deep the Father's love for us
    How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
    Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon the cross
    My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed to hear my mocking voice
    Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
    Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
    His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
    I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom [x2

  3. I find people judge God on the actions of other people. The bible tells us that 'none is perfect not one' please understand that when a person kills, steals or lies that action belongs to them and that is why Jesus came and paid the price. For God so loved the world and loves you and nothing will change until Jesus returns. God knows we are not perfect but the ransom is paid "IT IS FINISHED". God bless and if you are struggling with anything join the club and love, forgive and have mercy anyway. Jesus did.

  4. John 3:16-17     For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.    Romans 4:25   Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.  Thank  you dear Jesus.

  7. Wow, Love this Hymn …. it brings tears to my eye in THANKFULNESS every time I hear it ! If he saved a miserable;e soul like mine, He will accept anyone! Wow … what a Gracious God! He died for me, and you also!

  8. His wounds have paid my ransom. Says it all. I feel that I've been purchased by the blood Jesus Christ shed for me. Everything about the music makes it perfect for this type of arrangement. The words too are just as powerful. When I perform it I pull it down a notch at 'But this I know with all my heart,……'

  9. Please brothers and sisters in christ pray for me i am struggling with the repetitive sin of lust and find myself falling to it sometimes i feel that god wont forgive me for falling to it so often. Please pray for me to overcome it
